    RIP Warrior.

    ...

Many clowns on here would have called that a quit job or a dive based on the ending salvo of shots and his reaction to them. Not really sure how many times we have to see things like this before smooth brains understand you dont have a clue what fighters are experiencing in certain moments of fights. You would think that with how many comas and deaths that happen in the sport, 'fans' would have a bit more reverence for the fighters and what could be taking place in their heads than to scream about dives and quits every other fight.

You know something is really wrong when you get a sick feeling in the pit of your gut during the fight.

We've seen this too many times.

He was taking some clean, hard shots throughout the fight prior to the eighth. Shots that he could have conceivably gone down from without anyone questioning the ending's legitimacy. But he stayed upright and, maybe on instinct, tried to contest the fight for as long as he could.

Had he survived, some would have questioned the effort he put into the contest.

Hope he rests in peace, or at least with the understanding that at least one fan appreciates the effort he put into his final fight.

Against Ruiz, AJ had been dropped multiple times, caught with huge shots, was exhausted, and he gets called a quitter for how he looked after the final knockdown in the fight while the ref is counting and supposedly not doing enough to continue the fight. He gets called a coward and a quitter on the regular for that.

Just the other day some clown in here was talking about how they think Wilder chose to quit in the third Fury fight and could have gotten up but chose to stay down.

I have no doubt at all that had this warrior, RIP, not fatally succumbed to these shots but merely taken too much punishment and succumbed in the moment and got counted out, the usual suspects would be on about how hes a quitter.

All I am saying is that at some point, 'fans' that have been around the sport long enough should have a bit more respect for the sport, its fighters, and the fighters it maims and kills, than to talk so disparagingly about how these fighters react in these situations, situations 95% of internet dwellers doing the disparaging have almost zero actual concept of.

I’m confused about what the referee was doing at the end of this fight. The guy goes down and the ref indicates that it is a slip and not a knockdown. But then when the fighter can’t get up, the referee just decides to start a 10 count, and then counts him out?

Damn i wonder whether the guys prognosis might have improved if his corner had thrown towel in once his gait went awry, realise that is grabbing at straws and the brain trauma had already occurred, but ringside medics might have had a small brief window of opportunity to at least assess while he was conscious.

Hindsight of course is a luxury we possess post incident.

Most definitely not good to witness.
    RIP young man
