It was mentioned because it was part of Duff's identity that he mentioned himself. It was clearly something he was proud of. The struggle of the people is such, that they often like to identify themselves.

    Now I have 2 choices.

    1. I either take the word of Maxie Beech who at the time was the landlord of a very well known pub on the river in Windsor, named " The Donkey House " Or

    2. I take notice of some hop picking slime from Kunt.

Forgive me if I waste no time on the country bumpkin.

You are something that I would give about as much time of day as I would a child abuser.

Prior to the rise of the big independent promoters in this country , boxing was run as a private club by the NSC, no blacks were allowed to contest for British titles, and if a champion lost his crown on a bill that was not at the NSC in Covent Garden the result was deemed to be invalid. The NSC allowed no Jews to become members. The big promoters on the world stage at these times were Cochran [Uk] Dickson ,Rickard, Cofforth,McIntosh, and Curley, none were Jewish, and the sport was certainly more corrupt during these times than it ever has been under the BBBOC.

Solomons was Jewish and he didn't look after Duff ,on the contrary he put every obstacle in his way to stop his progress. The cartel that Duff was part of had two Jewish partners and two who were not, you need to do some research before making sweeping generalizations that are accompanied by zero proof to back them up.

I met Duff a few times, used to get my tickets from Davey Jones his secretary, he was the guy that carried the Union Jack into the ring for the international bouts.

Mickey Duff paid British fighters more money than any other promoter up to that time, his shrewdness and business acumen got titles for the likes of Watt, Stracey, and Magri, guys that were not really top flight.
Watt was going nowhere when he was resurrected by Duff and Lawless,Magri had chin issues and Stracey was manouvered into a title fight at exactly the right time when a great fighter was ready to be taken, ditto McGuigan whose career was guided behind the scenes by Duff.

Boza Edwards ,Duke Mckenzie, Lloyd Honeyghan,Mugabi, among others earned very well through Duff,as did many others.
As far as the Jewish influence on boxing you infer that it has been negative in what amounts to an anti-semitic comment, again without any proof. Given the vast array of great boxers that have been Jewish in this country alone I say exactly the opposite. Perhaps you prefer Gentile promoters like Don King and Wilfred Sauerland ? Leaders of boxing bodies like Bob Lee,Jose Sulaiman, and bagman Pepe Cordero?

Boxing's nadir as far as corruption is concerned occurred in the 50's in the US when it was run by not Jews but Italian/ Americans , ie the Mafia.Carbo, Palermo, and their stooges, Gibson, and Norris?

Boxing is and always has been a business,a commercial enterprise and as in any other business there is corruption,no one disputes this, what Im disputing is your assertion that Duff was corrupt.

Marvin Hagler made the same assertion regarding Duff's handling of John Mugabi's purses but ,after doing some checking he had the balls and grace to stand up in public and make a public apology at a boxing convention.

Still waiting for some proof of your smoke and mirrors comments.

    Not holding my breath though.

You are about as erudite as excrement, as cultured as crap, and as perceptive as pooh.

In fact on the evolutionary scale you are somewhere beneath pond scum.

Talk about shattering a pair of idiots, as a bowling ball dropped from 2 miles would crush a pair of ants. Excellent work.

This is what Unforgiven posted on the British Forum.

"Interesting character. I remember when he ruled British boxing.
Respected him because he did it all - boxer, manager, trainer, cornerman, matchmaker, and promoter.
And he came over to England as a immigrant kid with no English during the 1930s when Hitler gearing up on the rampage in Europe, and it was the Great Depression. Polish Jewish I think.

Worked with hundreds of top British fighters, and others too, like those two exciting Ugandan fighters John Mugabi and Cornelius Boza-Edwards. I think he handled Trevor Berbick for a spell too. "

Nonsense. The sport was thriving in the 1980s

"What exactly was the difference between 'the cartel' of Duff et al. and FW's almost complete monopoly and domination in the '90s and '00s through ITV and then SKY ? "

This is what Alan Rudkin's son has to say about Duff.

"My old fella made his debut with Mickey fighting at the Liverpool stadium in 62. I believe it was he highest purse ever paid to a prelim fighter there at the time, it was 100 pound. He boxed on Mickey's shows throughout his career (up to 72) but he also boxed for Jack Solomons, Harry Levene and others with no comebacks from the "Cartel". They also worked together when me dad was managing and were on friendly terms through the rest of their lives. "

Duff ,Astaire, and Levene paid Billy Walker £10,000 for his first three fights,a terrific sum in 1962. Billy's brother George piloted him and he took him to Duff instead of Solomons who had promoted his own career, this was because he was less than happy with the finances he had received from Jack.
BTW Harry Levene who Duff was match maker for ,was the manager of Larry Gains and Jock McAvoy , Gains never got a title shot, and McAvoy had to challenge for one above his natural weight class , so much for the Jewish fraternity helping each other.

Below John Conteh's opinion of Duff.

Conteh, who held the WBC light-heavyweight crown from 1974 to 1977, said Duff loved the sport and knew it inside out.
"I turned pro in 1971 and Mickey was my promoter until I won the world championship in 1974," he told BBC Radio 5 live. "He was a boxer himself from a tough background so he knew where we were coming from.
"You listened to him and you trusted him. He was a great matchmaker and offered a tremendous vehicle for someone like me to turn professional. ".

Thats a pity. Couldn't you put in a bit more effort and try to beat the current world record by at least an hour.
