I can only echo the sentiments of others here, it is indeed sad news. At least he must have died a proud father, and got to see his son achieve what few people do, in the toughest sport of all. Rest in peace sir.

Hope this doesn't send Cotto off the rails as he apparently did after the loss to Margarito.

Very sad news, they seemed like a genuinely good, close family on 24/7 unlike a lot of other families we've seen on there.

He must have been chuffed with his boy - even in that Pac beating, Miguel Cotto stood up like a son of whom to be proud.

Terrible stuff. 57 is young. My dads 58 (I think) and he looks healthy to me but a heart attack can come out of no where I think. Cotto Sr looked fine. Sad. Cotto looks family orientated. He must be heart broken. Hopefully he fights Margo soon and with the anger of his fathers death destroys Margo. I would enjoy this.

if he wasnt broken after 2 punishing loses this is sure to shatter what little remains its hard to see him having a serious career after such a tragic loss, his father was a big influence in his camp i guess a farewell fight looms infront of him
