Thanks, an iconic figure in many of the Biggest Fights of the last great era of Boxing. Rest in the Presence of Almighty God...
He leaves a superb legacy as one of the best referees of all time. He never allowed nonsense from fighters, but he never let that deter the fighters from putting on a great show.
Damn ... whip-smart (judge) and whip-tough (referee); was a 10-1 pro welterweight. Not many guys his size could keep a pair of 220 lb HWs under control, but when he was in the ring, there was no question who was in charge. RIP, he was one of a kind -
He was not a good referee, he was a truly great one, one of the true elite. He had a cool mixture of badass and being fair to everyone, his passing is a tremendous loss to the sport of boxing. RIP.
