He was never getting better. Most recently it was posted that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. One does not "get better" from such a diagnosis.
Jesus man this is horrible news. I never really liked his personality much but still i was looking forward to seeing him fight some bigger names. R.I.P

When I read the news that he was in Stage 4, I knew it was going to be sooner rather than later. So sad...he was so full of life. RIP, Omar.
Yeah, any time someone is in that position they get optimistic about any shred of progress. Nick Charles, for instance, was clearly on borrowed time by the time he left Showtime but insisted he was going to "try and beat this thing". :verysad
