Australian boxing has lost two more of the old brigade over the last few days.
Pat Ford passed away yesterday at Orange, aged 81. He was Australian & Empire Lightweight champion in 1953-55, beating Frank Flannery for the Australian & Frank Johnson, of England, for the Empire, before losing them to Ivor Germaine & then regaining the titles in a rematch.
Colin Betty, aged 77, was a boxer, trainer, referee etc & was Mr boxing in Adelaide for decades.
