Ahhh that’s crazy if it’s true, one of the best fighters to lace them up imo.

I grew up watching his fights on YouTube. I was a huge fan of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and that led me to Sweet Pea. Who can forget those 2 robberies in which he beat ODLH and Julio César Chávez. A P4P number 1 for a few years in the 90's and a history of being avoided. Truly, an all-time great and P4P great defensive and elusive ringmaster.

May he rest in peace. Ameen.

He was hit by a car apparently. Can't believe one of the finest boxers of recent times has passed. RIP Sweet Pea, the original Matrix boxer.

    Yes, it's true.
    "...
A family member confirmed to News 3 that the Olympic gold medal winner and four-weight world champion was killed in the 10 p.m., crash.
Police said the driver of the vehicle that allegedly struck Whitaker stayed at the scene and is cooperating with officers.

Sweet pea was always one of my favorites, this is not fair.

Sorry for venting but you've had loved ones hurt from cars or even seen tragedies in your community it can be very hard.

I just always think there has to be better solution.
