RIP Reg Gutteridge by Kevin TaylorJan 25th 2009 This content is protected Legendary boxing commentator Reg Gutteridge died yesterday at the age of 84, after a short illness. An amateur boxer as a youngster, Gutteridge worked for the Evening News as its boxing correspondent for 40 years before making his name as ITV's voice of boxing before moving to Sky. Gutteridge was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2002 and was awarded the OBE in 1995, he covered six Olympic Games. Gutteridge, who lived in Barnet, leaves a wife, daughter and four grandsons. RIP ....
Reg did so much for the sport he should have been knighted without doubt. RIP Reg, we'll all miss you.

RIP Reg. It was him in partnership with Jim Watt that defined the golden age of boxing for me in the 80's. Will be sadly missed...
