I just finished watching this film and it was actually better than the trailer made out to be The Film focuses on the life of Welsh Legend and WBC Featherweight Champion of the world Howard Winstone, the loss of his fingers, his marriage, his family and his rise to the top despite all that happened to him. Erik Morales plays Vicente Salvidar as well as Enzo Maccarinelli and Junior Witter making appearances. Im suprised this film hasnt been talked about more seeing as its the only boxing film in recent times to have such a wide cast of boxers in it. on a side though Erik Morales KTFO Junior Wiiter Brilliant Film and it was actually better than ALI in my opinion
Wasnt it the loss of his fingers that caused him to have such low punching power? He could punch with full power in his right hand.
Yeah he lost them in the amateurs when he was working in a factory and got caught in the machine and then had to change his style to adapt. the fact that he became a world champion and had a three war trilogy with Salvidar was pretty impressing despite that was pretty impressive at the least. Nowadays we have certain people whining about a broken toes, Winstone had his fingers cut off and still managed to rack up a good record
