Every boxingfan knows his name so no need to introduce him.. And ironically for you I mentioned him in the first chapter. But yeah Helenius is our leading fighter now. He can bang and is entertaining but against Chisora he showed many flaws but he's still not that bad like people made him to be. When Klitschkos are gone I think Helenius is one guy to catch the belt. And okay thanks I appreciate your opinion :thumbsup
No, no, no. You got it all wrong, Jaffa just won his eliminator to earn his place to challenge the champion for the Helsinki Mega-Lightweight-Silver-Gold title.. He is contender not a champion!
Okay it's going to be an interesting saturday here in Finland! Six fights: Edis Tatli (Fin) 16-0 vs Sarfo Tyson(Ghana) 14-4 This content is protected P3 boxing promotions was pretty honest to media with this match up: Tyson is WBO # 13 ranked and this is a great opportunity for Tatli to take his place from the wbo rankings. Sarfo Tyson is pretty unknown and surely one of the weakest guys of WBO's rankings so this is a good way to go forward with Tatlis career. But still this is someway pretty exciting match up. These Ghana guys can be pretty solid sometimes. We don't know too much about them. Tyson's trainer is Joseph Nelson, brother of Azumah.. Joseph said that Tyson will knock Tatli out and after that they are looking for an opportunity to fight for a world title.. Sarfo Tyson himself said that his dream is become to world champion and he will do anything to achieve that. So I guess he has atleast a right attitude when he steps to the ring.. I expect Tatli to dominate this with his fast hands and technique. 100-90 Edis Tatli and he takes place from the WBO rankings and that is what P3 boxing was looking for.. Tatli's work out [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH12jj74KuI[/ame] Niko Jokinen 16-0 vs Mohammed Akrong 16-4 This content is protected This is very interesting match up! This is Jokinen's opportunity to shine - If he is capable to do it. Jokinen can punch and he has solid techique but someway he is still pretty vulnerable so I guess this fight will tell us lot of things. Akrong was pretty competive with Rubio couple of years ago when he was stopped in fifth round. And guy can punch: 14 knockouts. Akrong's trainer is pretty sure about his boy: ''If Akrong wants to knock Jokinen out in the second then he does it. If he wants to knock him out later, it's okay.'' I hope Jokinen passes this test but for me this looks like a tough test. Jokinen has been dropped couple of times in his career so lets see what happens if Akrong connects with a solid shot.. I predict that fight will be a war and Jokinen stops Akrong in seventh round. But I wouldnt be surprised if Akrong catches and stops Jokinen but still somehow I don't see it happening.. Let's see what happens.. Jaakko Myllyla 11-0 vs Iban Gallardo 10-2 (ESP) Myllyla is coming back from his injuries and this is a first test to get trough.. I've seen some tapes of Gallardo and he is pretty wild with his punches and Myllyla is a nice counter puncher so I go with Myllyla with a 4rd TKO. Myllyla has far better technique and Gallardo has no punch at all to make things go different.. This is still pretty solid and nice match up.. This maybe could be more competive that I expect? And then we have Jarkko Putkonen 4-0 vs Imre Simon 3-8 and debytant Eemeli Katajisto against Robert Halas 0-2. I guess there's no doubt about results of these fights.. But Putkonen is pretty interesting upcomer and he's been pretty impressive so far. And Katajisto's debytant is a great thing cause he was one of the best amateurs of our country.. So let's see.. AND THE MAIN EVENT: Hottest fight of the year: Eva Wahlstrom 7-0 vs Agota Ioka 7-1 for the European superweight title!! Look at these girls, they shouldn't be hitting each others! I expect to Eva dominate the fight. She is more experienced and all around better boxer. And she will be the new european champion :good Eva Wahlstrom 7-0 This content is protected VS Agota Ioka 7-1 This content is protected
Much appreciate.:good We dont have much but we are trying. If you only knew the inspiring story of Asikainen and how he brought boxing back alive here.
I was at the Hartwell Arena for Helsinki-Chisora and the atmosphere was breathtaking, and it is a great arena for boxing. Plus the Finns are a very friendly and fun loving bunch, always enjoy visiting my Finnish friends and even better when there is a good boxing card on.
Cool good to know. Interesting even finnish female fighters look better than your average american woman lol
Finland may not be known for it's boxers, but I gotta give credit where credit's due - namely that you guys have produced some badass military geezers. And Russia won't try to mess with you lot ever again after ww2 lol.
Results: Putkonen tko2 Katajisto WUD Jokinen WUD Tatli TKO1 Myllyla WUD Eva Wahlstrom WUD and she's the new european champion!
Oh boy, here we go. These boxers from Finland will only be known in Europe. Unfortunately in the U.S. if they are not Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Americans and recently Phillipinos they won't make it big or get enough credit or just simply ignored because they don't have any "fan" base. If not ask Martinez, Gamboa, Pirog, etc.
Asikainen? aint he the dude on Fight Night 4? Yeah its nice to see boxing becoming more popular in other countries. Lets just hope it doesnt die......or well have to resort to watching >>>>>>> [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxhGjdYNLUA[/ame]
Yep he is in FN4.. Asikainens story is an inspiration to all the finnish boxers. Asikainen fought half of his career on the pubs but he got his chances and momentum was right and he ended as a RING Top5 middleweight in his prime. Knockout victory over sylvester is a classic One here in finland. Now every boxer has a better team behind them here in finland.. It was wa whole different thing when Asikainen started his career.. It would be cool if people could give their opinions about our fighters. We have lot of guys here who knows much about boxing so it would be nice to know s there any potential in these guys
So its like a snowball effect, one guy starts it off and everybody wants to get involved. Boxing needs role models like that. I can see Asikainen obviously did wonders for boxing in Finland I only know him cz hes on FN4
