Two of Britains hottest prospects will be hoping to cause some fireworks of their own at The Big Bang on April 14th at Liverpools Echo Arena. Hosea Burton and Scott Cardle appear on the undercard of the British light heavyweight title clash between champion, Tony Bellew and challenger, Danny McIntosh live and exclusive on Sky Sports. 23-year old Burton, promoted by David Coldwell and trained by Joe Gallagher makes his professional bow at a separate Coldwell Promotion on March 11th in Bolton. And the super middleweight cant wait for the moment to arrive. Im counting down the days now, beamed Burton. Im feeling faster, fitter and stronger now Ive turned professional. Joe (Gallagher) wants you so fit that when you eventually end up in championship rounds you could go even fifteen rounds. Everything feels different and much better now Im professional. Theres no more laughing around. This is serious, these fights go on your record. This is the history Im trying to make for myself. Ive fought on television before when I was an amateur but to be part of a show as big as the one in Liverpool is massive. Ill be under a little bit of pressure that night but when that happens I deliver the goods. A senior ABA champion in 2009, the cousin of Tyson Fury already has goals in mind and shares the same confident personality as his heavyweight relation! I will be a British champion, I guarantee that! Every boxer has targets they want to meet and theyd be lying if they said they never. Anything can happen after you become British champion, thats the hardest one to win. A European title shot can just be round the corner afterwards and if you win that youre only a couple of fights away from a world title shot. David Coldwell in association with Eddie Hearn presents The Big Bang which is live and exclusive on Sky Sports HD on Saturday, 14th April 2012. Tickets are priced at £30, £40, £60, £80, VIP tickets £150 and all available from; www.coldwellboxing.com www.matchroomboxing.com or by calling the Echo Arena box office on 0844 8000 400 Follow @davidcoldwell on Twitter for regular updates on all our shows and fighters.
Good stuff, looking forward to seeing Hosea Burton! Can Stockport County get a percentage of the tickets for this one as well!?
Burtons very tall for a supermiddle, 6.4, is that not somekind of a british record for the division,? can't recall another at the weight as tall.
Oh good. Nothing against Tyson but hes a bit... rubbish... Glad to hear that Hosea won't be cut from the same cloth!
