vs Jeremias Ponce live on Sky Sports.

Taylor absolutely batters Ritson if that fight were to be made.

I don't think Taylor would ever waste his time with Ritson and nor should he, Ritson has done nothing to deserve to share a ring with him.

Ergashev should be getting the shot in an eliminator.ritson was in position for the wba last time I checked.

If Taylor had signed with matchroom this is exactly what'd be happening, winner moving up to face nigels son, winner of that moves onto 4 final eliminators (with rematch clauses of course) come through that & he'd be pretty much nailed on for a title shot this side of 2026

    Completely agree.

The only way I see it happening is as a "homecoming" but I expect that Catterall will fit that role anyway.

I thought this would be on DAZN UK. Anyway, Ritson isn't very good. Not to sound mean but he isn't near World Level. There was talk about him fighting Prograis at St James' Park, he'd get battered. To be fair he'll probably end up winning a vacant World Title that Taylor vacates. Don't know why he isn't rematching Vazquez.

I imagine that Hearn has sweet talked his contacts at the IBF to get this in place. Ritson is popular in Newcastle and usually in good fight and therefore Hearn loves him, but he isn’t particularly good. I imagine that Hearn will get Ritson to mandatory status and then throw money to win the purse bid banking that Taylor will vacate, which he likely will rather than pointlessly twat Ritson all over the show. Then I’d imagine Hearn will pick the weakest viable contender to get Ritson the shot and a nice title.

That’s how I envisage it anyway but the thing is with Ritson is he could theoretically lose at anytime and scupper Hearn’s plans.

I think he's (perhaps informally) already agreed to defend v Catterall who was Ramirez' mandatory for his wba & stepped aside to allow the unification to take place, Some heavyweights could learn a lesson from these guys atm.
