Rivals of Larry Holmes - short description

I've never heard anyone say that, although I think pretty much everyone has to agree than Evangelista did much better than anyone expected.

 

No worries, i just can't for the life of me see how Frank rates "Ok" when Bey, LeDoux and even Rodriguez get the bum rating.

Franks only fight of note was a draw against an inconsistent Snipes coming off the Holmes loss. Bey gave Holmes (declining indeed) absolute hell where Frank did bugger all. Even Rodriguez lasted longer vs Holmes than Frank. LeDoux while not amazing has an infinitely longer and better record. He's been in with a fantastic array of fighters. Holmes, Spinks, Foreman, Norton, Weaver, Page, Coetzee etc. That's some list.

Bey would open a serious can of whoopass on Frank.

 

Like you I find it extremely distasteful when people refer to boxers as Bums , especially when they do so from the safety of their computer chairs.:-(

 

Frank was limited but he had power....I was never impressed with Bey...At least Frank trained...Bey lost 12 of his last 16 fights after Holmes but the 80's had a bunch of unfit guys who where not devoted to training

I am not big Holmes suporter, and don't see him as Top 10 all time--although I won't argue too strongly against those who do. Anyway, list is unfair to Holmes, those were easy fights he took while champ, but he also fougy good contenders too.

Rodney Bobick fight I saw, I believe it was on undercard of a big fight. It was so early in career it' s not worth considering. Holmes won a one-sided fight, was totally in control.

TBH i reckon Bey hit harder. Some of those rights he hurt Holmes with were quite jolting. Bey was a comfortably bigger man than Scott.
