i'm one of the biggest RJJ fans out there and I dont really see Roy beating Joe C at this stage. Joe's punch volume would give Roy nightmares. I think Roy would have his moments and catch Joe C several times but I would say Joe C with a comfortable decision 116-112 or 117-111. I would give Jones a much better chance against B-Hop
I'm a fan Of Joe. He would have no trouble with Roy or Bernard at this point. But at prime, Roy would EASILY defeat any version of Joe. We saw flashes of that greatness tonight. The judges cards were IMO, a bit off. I scored it 118-110. Roy gave up the first two rounds, but fter that, Tito was never in the fight. He threw lots but nothing (and I mean nothing) was connecting with Roy's head. Roy hit Tito at will, wherever and whenever he wanted. Why didn't he finish Tito off when he was on ***** st. in round 7? Did they have a pact? He looked like he could have ended things anytime thereafter. But that wasn't the Roy of old. He will probably get another big payday, but i think he has slipped too far to be a threat to any of the big names. Remember, Tito is a 147/154 boxer. He hasn't had much success above those weights (3-3-0). Roy should hang them up and go out on a positive note.
What would of happened if Tito had bounced one of those big hooks off of Joe Cals jaw??? I think Tito had to go downstairs because he couldn't get thru Jones' defense or was afraid of being countered.
Nothing. Kessler did land much bigger shots and what happened? Tito is fighting way above his best weight.
I hope Jones/Calzaghe happens too. In fact, I hope Roy effs up the fight between Calzaghe and Hopkins. It would only serve Hopkins right for being such a douche in the build up to the Calzaghe fight. On second thought - no - let Calzaghe and Hopkins go ahead and fight. They both have business with Roy down the line.
Joe aint even the fastest in his division, Mundine has noticably quicker hands, Joe jst throws quicker combos.
Jones still is picking his fights, and picking on a small guys. He is not seriouse like in calling out some champ and there is bound to be one, well not Erdi that he thinks he could beat. Perhaps he is more realistic than I think, in not calling out an in the prime belt champ. Erdi is faster than Jones is now. May have been as fast as Jones was then.
RJJ would lose and lose badly, neither guy is exactly a textbook boxer, but Joe C is a world apart from Roy at this point. Even if Roy was faster, he wouldn't land and he would get "slapped" all night. Roy is not in any way shape or form the fastest boxer today, he looked pretty fast against a retired welterweight though. Are we all just going to pretend that Roys last several fights never happened?
At this stage, no way in hell Mosley is faster. Mosley didn't look that fast period against Cotto. It's clear he is no longer what he once was. Jones showed me better speed than Mosley.
Nothing to do with how fast he looks in comparison. We're looking at how fast he is period. You can look at someone's punches without comparing them to the opponent. Bottom line is, Jones's punches and combos were still very fast when he let them go.
Roy has fast handspeed, but it seems it doesn't have as much pop and not as accurate as compare with the Roy of old. Roy's may have faster handspeed than JC, but JC has the mental edge. JC is fearless..... he never lost. Can we say the same for Roy?
