spidot,i was at the fight in Perth when this happened,and yes bottles were thrown(plastic)and i thought it was apalling.Danny did egg the crowd on by asking for every1 to give choc a big W.A welcome. The bottles were thrown by a very small section of the crowd,these people should be banned for life Now i personally think Greeny has achieved more success in his career,through good mangement,than skill.Danny portrayed himself as the good guy and some1 that loves his country,and flag and of course the country will lap that up.Whilst choc has portrayed himself as the opposite. Australians generally dont like braggarts.Choc tells every1 that he is the best,whilst Green admits hes not the best. Personally i think these two fighters have been great for Aussie boxing,they get people talking.Green needed mundine and viseversa.

 

They have both previously fought at upto 170 they could make the limit easily.

They would only need to make a few kilo's its been done remember anything is possible in boxing.

Spidot, I think you know your stuff and agree with a lot of what you are saying. Try to find a more reasonable way of saying it.
I think folks like Green because he displays a lot of courage compared to some. Anyone who thinks he is a world beater or that the RJJ thing should go down in boxing history, is kidding themselves.
The flag waving, "Land down under" stuff is not exactly my thing either but hey...each to their own.
I've got nothing against Indigenous Australians, Moslems or anyone else for that matter but I think Mundine's Muslim thing is transparent, shallow and really quite pathetic. Anthony likes to think of himself as Australias Muhammad Ali and this was the first step.
Whereas Ali had wit and charm (not to mention an athletic record to be proud of), poor old Choc is just a try hard. On the wit and charm at least.
Would any follower of Islam seriously want this clown to be speaking for them? Do you know how limited his following amongst indigenous Australians is and why?

edit to add: There are plenty of Aussies who are racist just like anywhere in the world but that is another issue.
No one was desperate to see Lionel Rose, Hec Thompson or Tony Mundine beat. The aboriginal players in AFL are adored. Some despite being outspoken on race issues. I'm guessing League is the same.
I think it's a bit rich saying this stuff about white Australia being against Mundine when it is something he has cynically and callously engineered for himself. The man your refering to played rugby league at the highest level in this country and won world titles in Boxing he also was good enough to play basketball at the highest level and is an aboriginal man that came from the bonx in NSW all he had was his pride and his mouth and he uses them both.....he put's bum on seats to earn money that is his job.
