Between Jones and Hopkins for me. Recently had switched over to Hopkins but perhaps it was more being in the moment. Probably Jones. I guess it's a debate.

At an individual weight class it's Calzaghe. But for a career I would say:

    1) RJJ
    2) BHop
    3) Toney
    4) Calzaghe

It's no slight to Calzaghe, but the other guys moved around so many different weights, they had a more overall impressive career.

Jones then Bhop, the two bona fide ATGs. Jones might be considered behind Hopkins since he probably used PEDs on one occasion.

After that Toney, despite discarding some of his HW endeavours for cheating, then Calzaghe.

The poll isnt 100% sensical - are you asking who is highest? Hands down easily Jones on just resume.

In his Prime, RJJ beat both Hopkins and Toney. RJJ and Calzaghe didn't fight for a reason, in which I'll leave open to debate on who didn't want to fight who, as one didn't want to fight overseas for getting screwed in the Olympics and one wouldn't fight outside of the Euro countries. Calzaghe did beat both RJJ and Hopkins past prime. Toney only fought RJJ and it would have made the list easier to make if Toney, Hopkins, and Clazaghe fought each other in their prime.
    So here's my list:
    1. RJJ
    2. Toney (based on moving to heavyweight and beating Holyfield and Ruiz in which I feel Hops and Zaggers couldn't)
    3. Hopkins
    4. Calzaghe

Each shine in their own category of gifts: RJJ on athleticism, Toney on natural fighting skills, Hopkins on longevity, and Calzaghe on Stamina and recovery.

I know he was 40 odd when he fought calzaghe but I hate that people say hopkins was well past prime by the time he fought calzaghe... He just jumped up two weights to spank tarvers ass and winky... And was a force at lightheavy for another 6 years... Nothing about hopkins round that time indicated past prime

    That said...

    Jones
    Hopkins
    Toney
    Calzaghe

Joe coulda been above hopkins and toney on that list but his body of work wasn't good enough... Peak for peak I'd fancy him to beat hopkins and toney on points but Jones jnr was something else.... Roids or not.... Terrible shame that fight didn't happen 6 - 8years earlier

    Agreed 100%.

The counter-argument is "but he was 43". That is irrelevant when it comes to Hopkins. The man was a unified Light Heavyweight champion at 49. It's not like he was fighting cans and hanging around. It's kinda like Tom Brady (in a way), he is in his 40's but still the best or one of the best QB's' You can't just dismiss him and say "well he is 42".

Really it's a toss up. It's what you value more in a fighter. Every one of the 4 fighters you named did things the other 3 didn't do / couldn't have done.
Toney, a natural SMW, moved up to HW and held his own there with the real big boys. The other 3 couldn't have done that (I don't believe Roy could have survived at HW, his win over Ruiz was a one-off thing). But Toney was inconsistent during his whole career.
Calzaghe stayed unbeaten and was maybe the most consistent. But he retired earlier than the other 3.
Bernard had some of his best wins past 40 and had the best longevity. The other 3 couldn't have done that (Toney and Roy tried, but without success).
Roy was without a doubt the best fighter head to head during his peak. With each on their best night, Roy was better than the other 3. But he didn't age well and suffered a lot of KO losses.

So it's purely subjective. Toss a coin.

    Jones>Hopkins>Toney>Calzaghe for me.

Hopkins has a case as the best of the bunch with his longevity but Jones in his prime was such a marvel and essentially didn't lose in his first 48 or 49 pro bouts.

I'd rate Calzaghe the lowest because he didn't up his level of competition until very late in his career while the other 3 guys were taking on better competition earlier on and for a much longer period. Calzaghe's best win was against Hopkins which I rate highly (even though it was well past B-Hop's prime,) but I don't look at his win over Jones as anything at all since Roy was at least 5 or 6 years past his best at that juncture.

If Toney took his training seriously he could've been the #1 guy out of all 4.

This is not a thread to put down anyone if you feel Calzaghe should rank the highest feel free to make a case for him instead of acting like a victim.

well the best case is that calzaghe beat hopkins and jones.

but then in balance, enzo mac koed shot jones so if that argument was true then enzo mac is greater than them all.

Perhaps you should add Enzo maccarineli to the poll, and then people who choose to vote calzaghe must by sheer force of their own argument also vote enzo as top.
