The most feared left hand in boxing thru the 70's was Bob Foster, a head snapping jab and deadly left hook, possibly the most feared a deadly left-hook on the LHW ever....could RJJ wistand Bob's left hook, can he get away from the 81" reach and the 6'-3" ridiculous lanky body frame, potentially one of the hardest hitters in boxing history....

    Here goes Orishman again!

If anyone says Roy could of possibly survived the left hand, he will bring up how you don't know **** about boxing and Roy Jones got KOed twice and he would be KOed within the first 3 rounds.

We get the point Orish, you hate him, and hes not even in your top 100 ATG list.

no he couldn't,Roy himself admitted in the post fight interview after Tarver knocked him out that tall lefthanders always would give him problems stylewise...ther's no shame in that...every fighter can be beaten and every fighter will meet a style which will be hard to overcome eventually...

I would say there's very few light heavyweights ever that could withstand a well-timed, blind left hook from Bob Foster.

No, and you would be hard pressed to find ANY LHW who could.

Very few LHWs would have withstood the punch Tarver landed on Jones for the KO.

(They might have got back on their feet, as Roy did, but I don't see any LHW surviving the next 30 seconds).

A more pertinent question: Would Foster (or Tarver) be able to land his left hook on a prime Roy ?

No. But a prime RJJ would not be caught by any hooks so RJJ wins.

Not sure about some of the posts here. Not going to openly disagree, but being one of the biggest Jones fans on this site, I don't believe that Jones could have beaten Foster at LHW.

I appreciate your candour and honesty...someone mentioned that he could not think of any one that could and in all honesty neither do I...

Bob Foster was a very special LHW, he dismantle all LHW in front of him with ease...his left hand was legendary and with the reach that most HW would envy, he was the triple thread....

He was an underated boxer also, fighting extremelly compact for his size making his jab even more deadly since he force his opponents to fight within his range before they realized it ..he was landing a bomb left hook...

Bob Foster would be trouble to any LHW in history.....he had the height and reach of any HW, with incredible leverage...

Many people would say that the most perfect left hook ever thrown was Bob's expectacular KO of Mike Quarry..if you ahve not seen it...you are missing a beautiful momentin boxing...

You could have counted to 1000 and it would not have any difference....he was on the canvas twice the time that RJJ was from Glencofe combo
