Jones never fought anyone and was busted for roids, SRL is one of the greatest fighters to eve lace them up. RJJ tried his best to emulate SRL.

    This is irrefutable.

But I think the OP was talking about raw talent, and I agree with him there... Sure SRL fought and beat better fighters, but I will go out on a limb and say the casual boxing fan would be more impressed by a Jones Jr highlight video than watching footage of SRL, which is still very impressive.

Talent? Sure they are comparable. Had Jones taken some of the fights we have talked about he could have come very close resume wise also. Very few fighters get a chance to beat a Hearns, Hagler, and Duran in their career and those type fighters save James Toney (who Jones easily beat) were not around in Roy's era but he could have had some very good wins had he fought maybe a Benn, Eubank, etc instead of some of the guys he did fight.

They have mutual respect for one and other. Ray is one of Roy's favourite fighters, and they sparred together in the late 80's. Ray has obviously got the better resume, but that's due to circumstances.

Roy Jones beat both Bernard Hopkins and James Toney, clearly and rather easily, in their primes :deal

    He beat Rick Frazier!

Who did Ray Leonard beat who was as good as Frazier?

    Nobody!

    Now go away.

By talent I meant that RJJ in my opinion looked better on film than SRL who is also one of the best talents on film. They both had a wow factor to them and were very flashy... Resume wise you were right when you said it wasn't close.

You know nothing about Ray Leonard if you don't know that when he was a fighter he was the queen beatch and no one, NO ONE, was going to steal his spotlight or take his titles.

I noticed that too. They went from SRL, straight to Floyd Mayweather without mentioning Roy Jones, Whitaker or even DLH.

I think they mentioned Henry Armstrong first, then Louis, then Robinson, Ali, Leonard, then straight to Floyd.

No mention of Pacman either, all african american boxers, very biased segment on NBC.
