Floyd, Roy & Canelo for that matter are VERY over rated. Floyd & Canelo owe most of their success to Bob Bennett, the NSAC & Vegas boxing its practically impossible for anyone to beat them by decision in Vegas Without this help both would have had several losses
Roy made a career out of getting blatantly robbed in Seoul refusing to travel & defending against schoolteachers. postmen & even a garbage collector

Floyd wins in every category. Basically, everyone Jones fought who will be in the Hall of Fame is in. And he lost to nearly all of them.

Floyd will likely end up with more wins over Hall of Famers ... with zero losses against them.

    Everyone's circumstances are different.

    Floyd obviously aged better.

When Roy was 42, he travelled to Moscow to fight a CW in Lebedev.

At the same age, Floyd's just fought a tiny kick boxer in a 3 round exhibition.

    They had completely different careers.

You also can't discount the fact that he fought for another 16 YEARS after the Ruiz fight. He's fought longer AFTER the Ruiz fight than he was a pro BEFORE the Ruiz fight.

At some point, you just can't pretend 16 YEARS of a guy's career don't count because it doesn't suit your argument.

    That's childlike.

Are you going to tell me that Floyd is superior to Ray Leonard, on the basis that Floyd was undefeated, and Ray lost to guys like Camacho and Norris at the end of his career?

It's not a game of just comparing stats.

He doesn't win in every category.

Losses are only one factor to consider out of many others.

    Comparing stats?

By every measure, Floyd Mayweather had the better career.

It's nothing to do with suiting an argument.

It's to do with how relevant it is when stepping back and looking at the whole picture.

Nobody focuses on the end of Duran's career when they rank him, because they know it's irrelevant.

What do you think would happen if Floyd fought another 25 times until he was 49, against world class MW's and SMW's?

You think he'd still have his zero?

In Roy's 50th fight, he'd burnt muscle in order to drop back from HW, in order to try and regain the LHW titles from Antonio Tarver.

For Floyd's 50th fight, he was fighting an MMA fighter in a circus.

It's what happens when you take risks.

Yes, Roy's losses can't be ignored. But how relevant are they in the grand scheme of things?

I don't even know if he holds a better win than what Roy does over Toney.

His best win was against Oscar, and he only scraped by him by pulling out the last few rounds after Oscar had gassed.

Oh good Lord. I am focusing on Roy Jones' career as a whole. You seem to want to totally ignore MORE Than half of it. The last 16 years weren't the END of Roy Jones' career ... they were the longest part of his career.

If you want to argue who had the best career UP TO THEIR 50th FIGHT ... Jones would have a case. Although Mayweather, in 50 fights, will likely have beaten more Hall of Famers, won more titles, made 100 times more money, was far more popular and was undefeated (Jones wasn't).

If you look at their careers as a whole, Floyd wins in a landslide.

No, you said his best win came against Oscar. Mayweather fought guys who were better than Oscar. Mayweather beat Pac. Mayweather beat Mosley. (Pac and Mosley both beat Oscar.) Canelo is arguably better than Oscar. Who would win against Oscar and Cotto? Close.

    Not easily.

Roy went to HW and back, where he was outweighed by over 30 pounds, before he then had to burn muscle in order to try and regain the LHW titles back from a dangerous southpaw.

Roy didn't take vacations and go and play in the WWE when things were hotting up.

He put it all on the line.
