Both dudes are gassed badly in round 4. Gotta say I'm not impressed with the professionalism and preparedness in either camp.

Shirley dominating with flush uppercuts but unable to put Iñiguez away, nor is he going untouched either, getting strapped with big telegraphed hooks while loading up his own shots.

    40-35 Shirley, ugly victory.

I get why they do it (money and good practice) but at the higher weights, it becomes a ****ing dangerous proposition lol. Their stances usually cause them to eat tons of punches and absorb unnecessary damage.

Shirley bears a resemblance to post-nosejob Carl Froch.

Yeah it was ****ing hideous by midway through the third round lol hard fight to watch. It looked like it would end early but Shirley totally blew his wad in the first round and a half

Makes sense why it would be that way though. One is strictly a striking sport, the other you have to guard from the wrestling shot, which causes a lower guard and awkward striking stances

And offensively the kickboxing dudes are usually able to flummox their opposition in boxing with their unconventional angles, whereas MMA striking just leaves boxers totally nonplussed, like "Uh, you realize I saw that coming a mile away, right? I just assume that was a feint and you were insulting my intelligence, because nobody that really knows how to use their hands telegraphs anything that badly. That was a real punch, thrown in earnest? :dunno Seriously? I almost...feel bad for you and don't want to counter your face off. But I'm still gonna."

Lotta 4-rounders at light heavyweight, is RJJ himself gonna pull some lucky Toppenish couch potato from the audience to go a few rounds in a surprise impromptu co-main event? :sisi1

Both guys are over thirty (Peak is 35), so probably not looking at the future inheritors of the division here. :sisi1

One kayo between 'em. Strap in for sixteen minutes of ...hmm, tentative sparring, from the looks of the opening ninety seconds..
