Mayweather is certainly more textbook skilled, and has aged much better for sure.. Roy at his best was amazing, from what I have seen on film I am impressed more by him than anyone. There was such a wow factor to watching prime Roy fight. I would say Mayweather and Roy both ability wise rank pretty high, though they fought way different.

Roy did made history so did Floyd.

The difference is that Oscar was a better fighter than Ruiz. Even when Oscar was 35 or 36.

BUT hey... I guess whoever beats Floyd shouldn't count then... since HIS BEST DAYS ARE BEHIND HIM.

Having more championship bouts is just one of the many aspects. I personally didn't count Jones' championship bouts.

So you are telling me that Roy moving up two weight divisions to take on a decent top 5 Heavyweight Champ who out weighed him by 30lbs or so is not better than Floyd fighting a 35 or 36 yr old Oscar. On top of that Roy was more aggressive in that fight than Floyd was with Oscar. Yes Oscar has a bigger name and ATG but he wasn't prime. Lets be real dude. Its a great win for Floyd but its not even better than what Roy did.

Serious question. Ruiz is about as good as Travios Cloud? Agree?

So do you think Floyd can beat Cloud? Because that's what Roy did by going up to HW.

Roy went from MW to HW.

Floyd started off much lower.. so it's around 175 for a fair comparison.

Is a matter of opinion. If thats what floats your boat. I personally do not see anything special on Ruiz other than that he holds a lot. Oscar was out of prime but he wasn't shot. Bhop is over the hill and see able to win.

Just bc you are older doesn't mean you always lose to the younger.

You are so mind numbingly dumb it's amazing ANYONE has the patience to discuss anything with you. The way you come up with conlcusions, and what you think they mean remind me of short bus riding child trying to explain the economy. :patsch

So...Roy made history with a feat that had not been done in boxing in a hundred years. DLH and Floyd made history by SELLING more PPV's.

How the hell is that even supposed to mean anything?

At the time, Oscar was barely a part time fighter. You can say Ruiz was the weakest titlist at HW when he fought Roy, but what was DLH? He picked up a belt that was vacant when Mayorga won it. :patsch Mayorga hadn't a significant win at 154 when HE was fighting for a vacant belt vs. Piccirillo. And that's who DLH beat to make him what, the best JrMW at the time?

If Ruiz was such a weak win, then why didn't any of the other HW's who fought Ruiz had that easy a time w/ him? Holy could barely scrap a clear win over him. Rahman and several other HW's tried and failed. Yet Jones beating him so clearly isn't that impressive to you?

Oscar being a better fighter then Ruiz means jack **** w/o taking them both into the proper context of their status at the time, their peers, and activity. NONE of which you even consider.

If Ruiz was so beatable, why wasn't he losing to every weak ass HW? :patsch

There is too many ifs. Ruiz's best day still has less skills than an out of prime Oscar.
Also, There is no weight limit in Heavyweight bc once you got that big in hinders your mobility, speed, and coordination. Maybe thats why there is not weight limit.

It's not for you to judge yet you're judging. You think Gregorio Vargas is an elite fighter. That says everything about the kind of fan you are.

    @ Lance

I guess when Floyd loses, whoever beats him wouldn't count since he is 36 now.

I am well aware you don't know what I am talking about. I've known that about you from the first time you decided to reply to something I wrote.

I am not arguing Ruiz was not the weakest HW title holder at the time. But like I asked, if Ruiz was so bad, why wasn't he losing to all his opponents? Can you even try to asnwer that?

Jones made history moving up two divisions and beating a HW title holder that no one had an easy time with. No one.

Floyd moved up one division and defeated a highly skilled, part time boxer who was pretty much handed a belt.
