No way in hell!! Outside of Oscar, Hatton, and Corrales please tell me a fighter on Floyd's record that can compare to Lou De Valle, Hill, and Ruiz?

 

Absolutely not. Floyd has no wins comparable to a prime Hopkins or Toney. Ruiz, as boring as he was, was a top 10 heavyweight (maybe even higher?) and that was a historic win. The Corrales win, among Floyd's best, is comparable to the Tarver win, probably surpasses it, but doesn't come close to the Hopkins or Toney wins. Neither do the DLH or Castillo or Hatton wins.

 

Agree on Toney but I think a win over Corrales matches the win over Hopkins. Though solid, Hopkins was not the fighter he would become a couple years later and was nowhere near considered "elite" at the time Jones fought him. Corrales, on the other hand, was a top five pound for pounder. The idea that it was comparable to beating Tarver is ludicrous. And this is coming from someone who thinks Roy has the better resume.

 

Hopkins was still considered green back then and was no where peak in his potential.

James Toney was a great win but he was spent on the scales. Same can be said about Corrales. Ruiz is an average heavy weight that was picked on purpose so Jones can make history. How doesn't Floyd tower over Jones in resume?

Jones's List of big names:
Bhop, James Toney, Vinny, Griffin, Woods, Ruiz, Trinidad, Joe, Tarver, Johnson.
(I put Bhop on here even though he hasn't reach his potential)

Floyd's 11 vs Jones 11. You can easily see how Floyd's opponents outshines Jones.

Note* Jones fought bhop on a vacant title. Floyd lifted his titles from the champ. Plus he never lost against elites while Jones have.

I just list the known fighters and if i choose to go on Floyd has more solid opponents than Jones as well.

 

Everyone that Floyd fought he has been the smaller guy except for JMM and Hatton.

Jones was bigger than Bhop, Vinny, = to Griffin, Trinidad, Joe, and Johnson.

This should a no brainer and ESB posters FAILED again.

 

How was he bigger than B-Hop when he began his career at junior middle?

 

His Frame is bigger. You forgot the 50/50 interview? Jones even admitted that he is bigger than hops.

Height + Frame. Hops is taller but he is scrawny. Jones is 2 inches shorter but wider and bulkier.

 

His frame? Please elaborate.

 

Pit those two guys side by side and use your eyes to see who is bigger. It is that simple really.

Still doesn't understand just get Tyson to stand next to jones. They are around the same height and you can easily see whose frame is bigger.

 

I saw the fight. Jones' "frame" wasn't bigger than Hopkins when they met.

 

I'm not putting everyone with a record. I'm listing names. Like i said we can go down the list of solid fighters too.

I thought he was. He was shorter but clearly bigger from pov.
