Let me say this one last time:

Pre Sale Tickets for the fight went fast but slowed greatly. Reason(s) why:

    Jones is not a draw

Nobody in the States cares about Calzaghe

    The economy

Tickets were slashed in half in hope to generate more sales.

The Garden might be full but it won't be because all of the tickets have sold.

:patsch Eubank a good domestic warrior?

At the time he fought McCallum, he was a bit green, and was never really that good at middle - much better at super middle.

The Johnson fight was a dodgy decision, a fight I felt he won.

He also lost to Kalambay - who beat Herol Graham twice and is probably top 15 at 160 all time.

It would be crazy to suggest that he would have beaten either of Benn or Eubank in their respective primes - but styles make fights. Collins was a gutsy *******, both his power and chin are between those of Benn and Eubank and would have given Roy a tough fight.

Tougher than some that he did actually take.

Actually think of the difference in speed if Steve Collins fought Roy Jones in the mid-1990s at 168. It would not have been a tough fight for Jones at all.

that was because of Trinidad and his fanbase.

I do not think this fight will surpass that. I bet it does 300k or so.

I think he would have given Jones a real going over - around 1994ish.

He was really up for the fight as well, he always reckoned Jones was chinny - and sees it as one of those 'what might have been' moments of his career.

Jones would probably win, UD, but not as easy as you claim.

Roy jones fought a Fireman whilst a World Champion.
Roy jones fought a Fireman whilst ring magazines P4P number 1.

Please dont try to make excuses for a once amazingly talented exibition fighter.

The people in the UK don't pay for PPV fights. They get it free. I don't see it doing anything close to 500K. Calzaghe is unknown in the states and everyone knows RJ is shot.

Put Collins in with anyone who wasn't the fastest fighter ever at 168, and he gives them a very very hard night. He would give Toney a hard night, Hopkins a hard night if Hop fought him at 168, anyone. But Collins's weakness was his speed. Jones would not have lost a round against him IMO.

It was a mandatory. Blame the governing body. Or should Jones have vacated his title?

There are 10 other dudes just like him, so it aint a one off. Plus im sure he could have paid him off instead of fighting for the Don King Invitational title.

I love Jones, but he was the Harlem Globetrotters of boxing.
