Than how could have the Trinidad fight done soe well ? Tito was just as shot ..Im telling you this fight will do well ..More so because people will want Jones to pull off the upset ..But if im wrong oh well Im not buying this one going to a fight party
Jones would have been well aware of how strong and tough Collins was, he would have taken no risks at all and would have boxed and moved at high speed all night. No way Collins has an answer to that. But put Collins in with Toney, Hopkins, Eubank, Benn, McClennan, Calzaghe, Ottke, Kessler on their best nights at 168, and he would have given every one a torrid time. Not saying he would've beaten them all, but as long as he wasn't facing someone fighting with lightning, he would've made it tough all right.
We sometimes get them on Sky Sports, free of charge - others are on Setanta available at £13 a month ($20-22) or on Sky Box Office £15 each ($22-25). Setanta show lots of other sports, but I get it mainly for Aussie Rugby and the boxing.
Just a thought, but when Jones was pulling in **** PPV numbers for HBO, didnt they try and lean on him to up his game and quality of fighters he fought?
Jones UD Collins Jones UD Toney Jones UD Hopkins Jones SD Eubank - styles Jones TKO Benn late - styles or Benn KO Jones early Jones TKO McClennan Jones UD Calzaghe Ottke SD Jones (Only joking) Jones UD Ottke - all night running Jones UD Kessler or late TKO
Who that's currently boxing has fought a higher standard of quality throughout his career? I say Hopkins, De La Hoya, Barrera, maybe Toney, and that's that. To be 5th out of all the hundreds of active fighters around isn't too bad. You're being over-the-top in your criticisms of his resume.
What **** ppv numbers are you talikng about ? The Tarver ppv's did well and the Ruiz fight did huge numbers !
I agree with all of the above. Though Hopkins could maybe have made it an SD or at least an MD if they had fought again between 1997 and 2003. I'd still fancy Jones to win, but B-Hop could maybe have made it closer than first time they fought.
Through out his career he generally pulled **** numbers, I never understood why Hbo let him fight 1 decent fighter every two years.
Pull the numbers for Tarver Jones 3 and the Ruiz fight Unless im missing another opponent Jones faced on ppv tell what **** numbers are we talking here ..
Jones had several PPV's way before the fights you mention that were against terrible opposition and did awful numbers. I guess I was right.
Wait the only one I remember that was **** was the Julio Gonzales fight who else did he fight on ppv ?
