Roy Jones Junior of the Ruiz fight
Verses Joe Bugner of the Frazier fight.?
I think Bugner proved him self against a still dangerous Joe Frazier ,proved that he had it in him to put out a good performance ,even a losing one.
Nothing much needs to be said about Jones ..so how's it play out ?

Bugner was a decent fighter. Probably figures out a way
pre-fight just to out-point Jones. Bugner wins 6-4 in rounds
    in a strategic fight.

A very decent fighter and at times under rated .He could definitely beat Jones at his best. As u say on points .

Joe Bugner a death of a early opponent meant he never really let his punches go.
And was like Gerrie Coetzee he never had real confidence. Joe had physical adavantage
here but somehow as always he just lets the fight slip away . Jones by majority dec.

Ruiz was not brave enough to take the fight to RJJ. It would have been his best chance of winning, but it could of led to him being stopped too.

Aussie Joe was even at 23/24 a lot more cunning than Ruiz ever was, this would help him against Jones. Also the Bugner who fought Frazier actually gave it a go, rather than fight in his infamous 'Just glad to be here' mode.

Bugner W10/12, he might even get a late stoppage if it were a 15 rounder fought with the 70s era structure.

Bugner by brutal early Ko .joe was a world class operator went the distance with Ali twice and Frazier in tough fights .lost some fights over the years but was never stopped till he met Bruno years later. Shavers butted him! .watch the Dunn fight for a clue as to what would happen.

"let ME train for two months and show you what I could do, and I'D have Dunn out in two!" :)
Back to thread. Uh...I guess a Bugner UD. He'd probably hug him to death like his separated at birth black brother Ernie Terrell. :(

To be fair Richard is in his seventies and was badly injured in a fall at work so walks with a stick so you probably could duff him up ! I don't think it would be very sporting .

If the Bugner who turned up for the Jack Bodell fight faces Roy then an elusive Jones wins a UD.
Joe could stink the place out.

Hi Lloyd. My tongue was firmly in my cheek with my Ali impersonation. :)
I only meant to point out that a KO of Dunn is nothing to write home about.
I'm 64 with a bum knee so I'm sure Richard's "Yorkshire Blood" as he put it, would be enough to dismantle me at present! :)

Bugner was a lot better than people think he was, and he was very tough, he would walk through Jones, and Jones' punches would have no effect on Bugner, Bugner stops him before 6
