Sorry to start a new thread about it, I know there is another thread about the front page article.

This is one of the comments regarding that article.

Great article, and you're 100% correct in your assessment. As I've been saying forever, Jones KO 10, or a systematic one sided beatdown. I've been watching Jones his whole career, and was blessed to see him fight live against James Toney in 94. I've seen every one of his fights, and have the all on tape or DVD. As one of his biggest fans, and one who has exhaustedly studied his entire career, there's NO WAY IN HELL Joe slapmaster Calzaghe stands a chance. Roy is going to put on a performance of epic like proportions, and only Enzo launching the bloody towel can save him from being BRUTALLY KTFO!

:patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch :patsch

I think Calzaghe will win but Jones does have good power so anything can happen. But "systematic one sided beatdown" - don't think so.

Jones couldnt put away a fat past his prime Welterweight fighter(Tito), no way he can KO Calzaghe.

Calzaghe should win 116-112 or 117-111 with Jones showing some sparks of life in some rounds..

That doesn't change the fact that Ill be cheering and screaming for Jones till the end.

Calzaghe usually dominates fighters with speed, workrate and superior ring smarts. Jones' speed will be equal or greater, and he's a natural LHW with power. Not saying Calzaghe's workrate won't overcome Jones, but, really, anything could happen here. Jones still possesses the ring smarts and experience to time Calzaghe with counters everytime Calzaghe squares up in front of him.

The key is "dwindling relexes and power." That's what makes this fight in a special, or asterisked, category. This is not the prime Jones, just as Marciano didn't fight a prime Louis. Not taking a thing away from the younger guys, but there will always be an asterisk next to Marcianos victory and there will be one with Joe too, if he wins.

Cal will not let Jones take his posing for animal *******s air breaks...that is why Johnson won, and that is why Cal will win.
Jones has always been able to pick and chose when he wants to fight in a round, except vs Johnson and now vs Cal.
First time I'll be rooting for Cal.
40 is much older than 36...look at baseball at how many play at 36 and how many play at 40. Cal has fought Euro fighters before and knows how to fight against the shell.
Jones does not have good boxing fundmentals, and his speed and reflex will be lesser than before.
Joe will be a tad quicker. Joe has been fighting top flight "now" men, not worn out WW and Who's?
Here's hoping Roy don't quit on his stuhl.
Lets see if he's got it to take his beating like a man.

There are going to be some excuses flying and some sad Glass Jaw Roy nuthuggers here on November 9th.

The guy can't even take punches from Glen Johnson.
