I had to pick something so I put Joe by Ko, because I believe he's gonna really try for it, as it is his last fight. No matter what many say, the "slaps" have enough power behind them and in the later rounds Joe may even forget about his hands and really put some meat into the punches. Roy may have a few flashes of brilliance, and even if he manages a knockdown of JC I beelive Joe will be able to adapt, and then come back with a vengeance. To be honest though I don't really care who wins, for JC to retire undefeated, or for Jones to be back at the top. Both are deadset legends.
What bit of Great fighter i wrote dont you understand If you compare his resume to someone like Shane Mosleys or James Toney you cant say anything else but its lite. Anyway i hope he gets KTFO this weekend :yep
I do consider it somewhat lean and perhaps my knowledge on them isn't as great as others, but I'm sure you can see the difference in class between the opposition he's faced in the last 3 years compared to before the Lacy fight. Good points though, and I do agree that his opponents in that weak stretch as I called it, arent total garbage. Reid was very underrated, Brewer gave Ottke a lot of trouble, and Mitchell was a champion just a couple of months before he fought Calzaghe, so I guess you could say that he went pretty close to unifying then. Salem was never much good though. He had a bit of speed but wasnt a real world class fighter imo. The Viet rematch should never have happened though. If Viet was his mandatory in the rematch then it could be forgiven perhaps, but then again Calzaghe has been pretty selective with his mandatories too. I seem to remember deram hinting that Calzaghe was ducking from Rudy Markussen a while ago Anyway, my stance has always been that during the last 3 or so years, his resume has been top shelf, but before then it has been found lacking, and I guess some people feel that the more big fights he wins, and the more his stocks go up, then the more worse that dry spell period looks. He's certainly gained much more universal support since the Lacy fight though, and I hope he has at least another fight left in him after Jones. Regarding the general forum and you... I really don't know why you bother debating many of those guys. It's clear from the start that 90% of them can't be reasoned with. I know you like your little forum wars ect :yep, but doesn't it get boring?
I've always been a fan of sluts. Many great weekends have resulted because of them, and hopefully there will be more slut action tonight as well. I wanna see both you and muttley's name on the 'sluts' members list by tonight. :hey
yeah, but sometimes I have a slow arvo at work to kill :yep san rafael always bites, so if I've got a bit of time to kill I cast my line and wait for him to take it...it's open season then as far as I'm concerned
Nice. I miss deram. He wasn't a ****** or anything, he was actually pretty cluey with a lot of things, he was just so unaware of how everything he posted about, watched with boxing somehow revolved around Kessler. I mean, he only really propped up Mundine because Kessler beat him. In the old Canadian forum I caught him saying that the Lucas that got beat by Kessler would have beaten Green that night, ect. He was at his worst though when he was convinced Calzaghe was never going to fight Kessler. I remember he once said that Kessler would have beaten Joe 6 years ago had they fought simply because Kessler never struggled with opponents on par with Reid at that time, whereas Calzaghe had major problems with him. I miss my man.
Sorry mate, I have a reputation to uphold so I won't be joining 'sluts' on FB Too visible to other parties mate :yep
Thats EXACTLY why i burst out laughing. I dont want any future sluts to see im actually a fan of theirs :deal
My perception of it all is that he was a very courteous and well-balanced poster who was a big fan of Kessler, and then all of a sudden he started exhibiting signs of paranoia and just went *******s and lost it. It was around the time Calzaghe beat Kessler that I seem to recall he really lost it. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention to him, because it seemed for a long time he was an honorary Aussie poster (one of the originals from when I joined up I think?) and one day he just turned...and like a pack of rabid dogs, we all turned on him and it just spiralled out of control from there
get ****ed to what? Ask Josey how good Robin Reid was, he was a good fighter for real and in his prime when the two tussled. Forget the Reid that got beaten by LAcy and Froch - that was a dead man walking.
Actually, he started to crumble after the fight was sealed. He then changed his stance from "Kessler always being able beat him" to it'll be a 50/50 fight, and 70/30 seeing how it's in the UK. The weak part of it all was that he pissed off from ESB before the fight took place. But I searched and searched and found the **** at boxrec after the fight, and said g'day to him in my own little way. :yep
