Dont know if its posted.. And the sun always tells the truth.. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/ufc/article904209.ece
The article just says that Silva wants to fight RJJ, not that anything is signed. A fight with RJJ, even now, would be a dream for 90% of fighters who could anyhow make an appropriate weight. It's not amazing news that some guy without much of a name would like to face one of the biggest names in world sports, although maybe RJJ will like the idea of this, and I think he'd surely do it if the purse were big enough, which is probably up to Dana White to offer one if he thinks it worthwhile for promoting UFC, and as an event in itself. I doubt Silva would win though, so such an event might just confirm the superior boxing skill of boxers, not something so astonishing.
RJJ would destroy him in a boxing ring. Completely different in the octagon but I can not see it happening either way
Jones is fighting Beyer next and probably Calzaghe so why mess about in an exhibition against this novice. It would never get sanctione dby any commision and would be nothing more than the Big Show Mayweather type of debacle.
I hope like hell this fight takes place, just to **** off MMA fans.:yep Silva is a fool if he thinks he can compete with the likes of a shot Roy Jones, whom he won''t even be able to touch in the ring BTW. RJJ will toy with Silva for about 3 rounds taunting him and making him miss before brutally KOing him with a body shot with his hands behind his back...please God let this fight happen.
Dana White will NEVER i repeat NEVER allow this to happen. Right now Silva is one of his biggest stars. His boxing credentials are less than a journeymans.
it wouldn't p/o any knowledgeable MMA fan (oxymoron?:think ) jking... Two different sports, two different skill sets. Silva isn't a fool, he's just getting some publicity, same as when Mayweather was saying that MMA is just dudes who failed at boxing. And I agree a shot RJJ would make Silva look foolish....
