Aquamarine is an absolute joke of a poster  This fight wouldn't even be close, Roy wins however he feels like winning.

    You obviously never watched Nunn-Toney..

    Savage punch.

And why are we even comparing Toney to GGG??? The level of MW opposition Toney faced was far, far greater than GGG... It is so much that it is hard to even draw a comparisson.

TKO in the 11th. More to do with attrition. Toney was not feather fisted but he wasn't a savage puncher either. Toney was a good puncher at Middleweight not trying to take anything away from him at all. GGG is savagely KOing people early that haven't been stopped before. That was my point. Is he KOing ATG's? Nope. But they are good to solid fighters. Toney didn't exactly fight a murders row at Middleweight either he fought a lot of easy fights and even after that he went through a long period of fighting absolute nobodies. It happens.

I saw it. Late in the fight. Wasn't a savage punch.

I think the more proper answer is Roy would never take the fight unless it was a 90/10 purse split in his hometown with his ring and gloves.

you're getting ahead of yourself though
jones ruled his division and was P4P king. golovkin isn't ruling his division....yet
when he does, that's when things can/should get interesting with fighters from other weight classes, who can make this tito/jones/taylor/Hopkins circus something worth talking about

Golovkin would take that split, and get UD'd for his troubles.

I don't think he will be tested until he moves up to SMW and fights a Froch, Ward, Chavez Jr (only because of his ability to rehydrate he offers very little other than that and is a human punching bag)

Cotto would get beat up and KOed. GGG has made it clear he wants to be at Middleweight until he is THE champion so it might be a while. Who knows? Only problem is I don't see Roach and Cotto being willing to pass the torch so to speak. I think they avoid that fight until they are forced to take it if ever.

yeah, I think you might be right
it'll be another nail in the coffin for boxing if golovkin doesn't get a quick shot at cotto
beating cotto opens new doors, because then golovkin has silverware that is worth something. he might not have to move divisions, they might come to him

TKO KO what ever Nunn is a hall of famer ..And. Toney had a record of 25 wins 18 KO's going into that fight ..And GGG is KO ing glorified jounrney men !!

Let him step up in class before we start comparing him to legends ..He's the goods but he is extremely overratted right now ..

Beating Cotto would make him be able to leave Middleweight there would be nothing left after that. I just don't think Middleweight is deep enough for him to be tested. I am not saying he is unbeatable just the Division is not awful but not good either. The fun starts when he moves up to 168. We will really see what he is made of. :good

I guess we have different opinions on what a savage punch is.:yep

And remember, GGG has not fought anyone near the level of Michael Nunn, who Toney knocked out... So one could even say Toney's power is proven against better fighters.

Well, I'm sure the HW top ten is littered with guys who fit the description above (Bryant Jennings anyone?). Call me when Triple Duck signs the contract to fight one of them...
