Calzaghe was pretty brutal on that eye of Jones Jr, he didn't stop hitting it throughout the fight when the cut happened.

But I don't doubt that a part of him held back from completely destroying Jones Jr. A: He has too much respect for the guy. B: It may have presented Jones Jr with an opportunity to land a last ditch punch.

 

If that's the case, I still can't understand why the hell did Joe describe Jones as "a shot fighter" some years ago.

Is that "showing respect"?

You can think someone is past their used by date but still respect what they were when you idolised them.

This fight was made for one purpose, Jones and Calzaghe knew they could get 8 figure paydays for one another.

if he was rapping to him Calzaghe deserves even more credit for maintaining his focus.
