:hi: Roy hater, just to explain how full of **** you are Benn even said Roy is the best i would like to fight him to see how i would do against the best!!! Something along those lines there is a video of that where Benn clearly stated that Roy is the best...Roy face Hopkins and Toney but was afraid of Collins :patsch:rofl
Just watched that Benn said he frightens me and you say Roy ducked him.

Jones was never undisputed champ at light heavy, Michalczewski was always the lineal champ.

Just because he would have beaten them doesn't mean he didn't avoid ppl, nobody is saying Margo would beat Floyd just Floyd chose not to fight him. Calzaghe turned down a fight with Glen Johnson numerous times doesn't mean he would have lost just he didn't want to fight him.

rjj was a freak of a nature athlete who got away with a lot because of his freakish athleticism. Look at floyd late in his career compared to roy late in his career. Being as that their resumes are comparable, floyd's longevity gives him the edge.

No, pep wouldn't been a big favorite. If anything bookies today would've made him an underdog.
Look at Valero's record of 27 wins before he committed suicide to pep's 27????? Who fought better opposition?

And if you want to take their last 5 before pep suffered his first loss. Valero still have him beat. So why would pep be favorite????

Let me know when Floyd goes up to 160 after 50 fights, and then drops back down immediately after cutting 10 pounds of actual muscle.

    How would that effect him?

Because pep was arguably p4p number 1 whilst champ. Valero was never even arguably divisional number 1 whilst carrying his sfw strap.

Make a thread in the classic and we can discuss it there.

Anyone that says Floyd is more of a cherrypicker than Roy needs to be banned from the website. Roy was content on making Mandatory fights and his optional fighters were a farce.

Why do people on here try and re-write history? Do you think Jones would have ever made a fight like De La Hoya or even Cotto happen? :patsch

The guy avoided just about every threat to fight useless mandatory and optional fights. Simply saying "Jones would have KOed fighter xyz" doesn't cut it. We don't know because the guy was too cautious to make the fight.

There is no need for it. IT is bladerunner who constantly bring it up being the parrot that he is.

IMO i think Valero beats Pep (not resume). I've put up my arguement.

    tasteit,

He should have fought Nunn when Mandatory.

Collins was dismissed on two occasions.

    1. To go up to 175.

    2. To fight Reggie Johnson to unify at 175.

A fight with Collins would have been nice, but he fought and beat better fighters.

Gerald was missed at 160, due to the fact that Big Roy held Roy back and had him fighting nobodies in Pensacola.

By the time he'd beaten Hop in 1993, he was too tight at 160, and moved up to 168.

Gerald's first fight at 168 was against Benn in 1995.

So they missed each other at 160, and then fought in different weight classes.

Maybe they'd have fought if not for the terrible tragedy?

    Jackson, as above.

Roy wasn't in the mix at 160 in the early 90's.

While Toney, Nunn, Jackson, Johnson etc were all fighting each other, Roy was being overprotected fighting the Lester Yardbrough's of the world.

Benn and Liles were King fighters, and the Levin's who handled Roy, didn't really want to deal with King. He wanted options on Roy, and those fights would have been extremely difficult to make. According to Roy, King wanted a 3 fight option on him.

Dariusz M and his promoter, turned down HBO's offer of a double header to promote a fight, and according to Roy and Murad Muhammad, DM was making between $1-1.5m in Germany per fight, and he wanted $6m to fight Roy.

Roy says that HBO actually offered him $5m, but it was turned down.

I have a whole page of links, with quotes from Brad Jacobs and Kerry Davis, saying that DM and his advisor were never available to sit down and discuss terms, and they were never available via the phone to get the ball rolling.

It's easy to say he should have fought these guys, but that's not how the world works.

There's lots of circumstances involved. (boxing politics etc)

You simply can't just turn around and say that Roy DUCKED ALL of these fighters.

    He didn't.

He ducked/dismissed Nunn at 175 when he was faded, and he dismissed Collins.

If you want to refute anything that I've wrote, then get back to me.

    Thanks.
