roy Jones, showed enough of his former skills to impress some people last night, he basically battered a younger, but far more faded opponent in "Left Hook" on the way to the stoppage that came after the conclusion of the 10th round..

Even more a "shot" fighter than we thought he was, 32-year-old Lacy must surely get out of the game for good now. In truth, the former super-middleweight belt holder has never looked good since his awful drubbing at the hands of Joe Calzaghe, and last night Jones hammered what little there was left of his career into the ground...

    jones v hopkins 2 anyone?

    "shot to pieces"...bollocks.

Lacy is absolutely done, 1st Calzaghe destroyed his mental psyche and exposed him as a basic slugger with a good punch, then the torn rotator cuff in the Tsypko fight took away the last thing he had going for him. Roy is still a top 5-8 LHW but it's a very week division and he would most definitely get his ass handed to him by Dawson, B-Hop, Pascal or Cloud.

Jones has been shot since 2003, I know members from England are desperately trying to make Jones look like he's semi-prime because he's in Calzaghe's resume and I can't blame them. Let's face it, who else do they have to brag about in Calzaghe's resume?, Hopkins, Lacy and Kessler. Jones is by far the biggest name there so I can see their problems and feel for them sincerely.

It's an interesting topic become for once you have a couple of names in a conversation that make comparing and analyzing this interesting.
    Look...
Lacy - victim of Calzaghe, Taylor and now a Jones Jr. we all thought was ready for a scrap heap.
Taylor - conqueror of Hopkins, Lacy and victim of Pavlik and Froch
Pavlik - conqueror of Taylor and one horrendous loss to Hopkins
Hopkins - loss to Calzaghe, Taylor and Jones Jr. as well as a win over Pavlik.
Calzaghe - wins over Lacy, Hopkins and Jones Jr.

The SMW tournament makes things interesting with the inclusion of Kessler, Abraham and Froch.

This opens up tons of interesting questions..
    1. How much better does this make Calzaghe look?
    2. Where does this leave Dawson?
    3. Maybe Jones Jr. isn't the same guy he used to be but how competitive would a rematch between Jones Jr. and Hopkins really be?
    4. How does this reflect on the participants of the SMW tournament?

Roy jones's impressive win only adds even more greatness to calzaghe the way he destroyed him.
    Same when hopkins beat pavlik.

-those who know how good he was dont need to be asked that question
-at cruiserweight and yet to beat johnson convincingly
-very,now i know some will incur a huge boner at my statement, but it is now apparent that jones would make this competitive...
    - it has no relevance really, calzaghe is done the mantle must be passed on to someone, kessler would be very fitting...
