or how about taylor beating hopkins adds more to pavliks greatness... could you be more off the mark?
You calzaghe nutsuckers are seemingly oblivious to fact that, despite his showing against a lead-footed, stationary lacy, Roy's biggest asset was always his mobility and footwork. Anyone in denial about roy's inability to use his these key components anymore really has not taken the time and sit down, and watch a truly Prime Roy Jones. You know, the one that would circle around Joe like flies on ****. Oh, that and the fact that roy never, EVER used the peekabo defense in his prime to block punches, which Calzaghe also exploited to great effect. It's OK, though boys, continue deluding yourselves that the combined 83-year span of his last two opponents had absolutely no impact on the end results.
Taylor beating Hopkins adds to no one's greatness, it only adds to Taylor's greatness. Newbies and fans of UFC and specifically Brock Lesnar like yourself would think that other fighters represent who they lost to or who they beat. Styles make fights, what Hopkins does after losing to Calzaghe does nothing for Calzaghe. In the end Calzaghe's resume will be looked at to represent him, not Hopkins'.
Look man, there's a reason it made no sense for Calzaghe to travel to fight Jones back when he was in his prime. Calzaghe claimed he's the WBO reigning supreme champion and doesn't need to travel for no one. Ever wondered why traveling with his light heavyweight lineal title to fight Jones made sense all of a sudden?, yeah, how Jones had a seemingly competitive fight with a blown up inactive Trinidad despite dropping him twice. Calzaghe his self came out and said that Jones is way past his prime and is a worthless fight then all of a sudden Jones is prime material when he signed to fight him. Now a few apes are trying to convince us Jones isn't shot at all because he whopped no other than Lacy(who struggled with Manfredo) when Calzaghe his self said otherwise a few months before signing the fight. Look man, Mayorga looks like Ali, Foreman and Frazier combined punching the heavy bag, literally.
Socrates (the one posting on this board, at least)is the very definition of a dilettante and his supposedly groundbreaking "A beats B so therefore A beats C! "threads are great source of unintentional hilarity.
no the same johnson who giot beat by clinton woods.. no the same johnson who was beaten badly by omar sheika, who in the fight immediately following that was destroyed by calzaghe,so by your logic calzaghe should chase a fight with a fighter (who at the time) was engaged in warfare with clinton woods and had just been decimated by americas latest "next big thing" i.e sheika ,who in turn calzaghe had just destroyed!! now i would have liked to have seen the fight, yes but it didnt happen and i have no doubt calzaghe would have toyed with him...
I hear you loud and clear. But hey, let them have their little circle jerks, they make for good entertainment.
funny you sound familiar... Um,but I don't recall you waiting on me anytime recently... anyway , here's a dollar. in case i didnt tip you.:good oh another one of my castoffs, this **** is really tiresome... advice: Don't slip with your tongue, slip with your foot... Don't sing 'Sexual Healing' in the gym lockerroom and dont follow me around like a lovesick puppie espousing diabolical repartee and lame witticisms regarding my posting,in the hopes of attempting to engage me in your latex fetish... like water off a ducks back!!
You wouldn't believe how bad Lacy looked vs Jones. At times Jones just stood on the ropes for a long time, yet Lacy wasn't able to land a single shot, even a body shot. Lacy is spent and slower than a turtle. I don't know about "shot to pieces", but Jones has been on the decline for a long time now. His opponents after Calzaghe have been handpicked to make him look good so that people will say "Jones still has something left". Well yes, he can beat up C fighters, but if you give him a B fighter with speed he will lose have no doubts in your mind. Seriously, I don't think many fans would like to see Jones vs Hopkins 2.
Let me guess.....Socrates/Anglosaxon is trying to pretend like RJJ isn't shot....because it woud make Calzaghe's feeble resume look slightly better No surprise really, Socrates/Anglosaxon is the same ****** who thinks Calzaghe has a better resume than B-Hop, and would beat a prime RJJ. As Calzaghe's chief homosexual nuthugger, Socrates/Anglosaxon has ZERO credibility.
Hey Socrates, when you finish googling canned, patently-unfunny responses in the hopes of purveying any semblance of wit, the rest of us will be here, talking about the sport of boxing. :hi:
