I was SCREAMING at him to throw something in the Glen Johnson and Anthony Hanshaw fights.

He does not do enough. In the Hanshaw fight, his power was the big equalizer.

He is NOT able to muster enough to outwork Calzage.

Yet many experts are predicting a Jones victory :huh

But Hopkins was fairly inactive against Calzaghe and almost beat him. Could Jones go one better?

I doubt it. At this stage, Hopkins is a more effective counter puncher and overall more effective than Jones.

Calzaghe should have an easier night against Jones.

    Agreed.

It's extremely frustrating watching him being so inactive. If he could just get his fitness right up one last time, then I'd probably favour him in this fight. But if he's going to lack the workrate like he has in recent times, he has no hope.

It has been a strange year for unbeaten fighters though. Cotto and Pavlik both lost. I'd love it if Joe did too.

If any fighter needs a loss to breathe some reality into this board it's Joe C... I don't pick Roy to do it - But I'll be a happy camper if Roy pulls it off.

    Exactly.

People say things like his speed has deteriorated and chin etc etc, its his stamina/work rate that is the problem here. His speed is fine and his chin would take the best Calzaghe has to offer, its the absence of a decent work rate that is going to allow Joe to easily win rounds.

I want Roy to win, but seeing him using local guys for sparring partners & talking like it's no big deal if he looses.........:? :? :?
