Momentum definitely in Mendy's corner..

It'll be interesting to see if Eligio can muster a second wind in the final ⅓ of this fight..

 

Round 9

Eligio is getting tagged every time he lets the hands go, as Mendy has found a rhythm with the counter 1-2. Mendy now walking Eligio down intently, banging him with reach-around body shots when Eligio tries bending forward to clinch. The ref warns Mendy for an incidental kidney punch. Mendy opening up on Eligio, flurried upon but not relenting. Eligio amps it up and Mendy is forced into the ropes, but is still blocking over 90% of what Eligio is threshing out at him.

Round 10

Eligio is digging deep, summoning up eight and nine punch combinations, but not able to penetrate Mendy's guard with them or force him to give ground. Mendy is landing the 1-2 coming forward, and cheekily reaching beneath Eligio's steepled gloves with the uppercut and/or swatting at him with a fat left hook. Eligio is standing in front of Mendy, guard up, but increasingly often just catching his breath instead of punching. Eligio finds some flurries down the stretch but not enough to steal the frame.

Round 11

Eligio is jabbing into the wrists, Mendy pretending he's about to jab but then keeping his goalposts held rigidly, waiting until Eligio retracts, and then firing & scoring his own jab. Mendy lets fly with a sailing right hand, initially appearing to miss if the intended target were the face, but then coming down and clonking Eligio atop the head. Eligio is forced to back up, nearly running afoul of the corners a few times, ducking the 1-2 and countering with short perfunctory combos that don't reach. Mendy is axing down at him from afar with the right hand. They get into a melee in the final twenty seconds, both landing, Mendy better.

The crowd is giving this a standing ovation as they sound the bell for round 12, deservedly so.

 

Round 12

Eligio is backing away from Mendy's jabs & tear-drop right hands. Mendy coming forth with purpose now, jabbing & hooking Eligio across the jaw line. Eligio is pumping out long volleys, alternating hands until Mendy appears to be revving up his own punch. Mendy throwing a tiny fraction of what Eligio is, but landing cleaner and much harder stuff. Mendy hurts Eligio slightly with a right hand. Eligio swerves away from a 1-2 and boomerangs inside with a high flurry, missing everything. Big splashy looping rights by Eligio, tripled up but all caught on the raised left forearm of Mendy. Body shots and chopping rights by Mendy while showing off a little slickness, making Eligio miss an entire combination while standing in front of him and punching responsively.

Honestly there's nothing the matter with this girl, @Somachenko... not super hot or anything but not unattractive by any stretch of the imagination. Problem is anybody would seem like a dog compared with our gal...
