Licia Boudersa vs. Marisol Italia Corona de los Santos, 10x2" rounds @ super featherweight

 

Anthems.

 

Round 1

Boudersa is kicking her legs out, galloping in with his body rotated around to her right, leaving her bent left arm pointing at the Mexican as though saying "j'accuse!" Boudersa is much busier with the jab, sticking hers past Corona's from outside, utilizing her length & height advantage. Corona just not throwing much, except when Boudersa is pressing in on her, and even then only a few defensive jabs. Corona tries a right hand down low but is dodged as Boudersa skips in reverse, taking it on the lead hip.

This is for the WBC super featherweight women's title, btw - 1st defense of Boudersa.

 

Round 2

Boudersa is throwing jabs into the face and then uppercutting into the midriff. Corona for her part is slinging huge wide body combos, swiveling above the waist as she hurls each fist around from behind her ass like a sandbag. Boudersa countering her in the pocket, ducking in, shouldering her in the mouth, and tying up. Getting dirty in there.

Round 3

Boudersa is ducking the wild swings of Corona, then feeding dynamite-stick jabs into her teeth like a Warner Bros cartoon eluding and then antagonizing the hapless villain. Boudersa is very quick on her feet, hopping away whenever Corona tries entering into a fencing duel with her and dusting off her left up-jab. At these moments Corona only gets countered more accurately on the outside, leading her to lose her cool and begin hooking wildly again.

Round 4

Boudersa is falling in with lead uppercuts and superman (er...superwoman?) right hands now, ignoring the few Corona hooks that bang obliquely off her cheeks (usually the impact more from inner wrist than knuckle padding, thus none of them legally scoring, if the judges are paying close attention). Boudersa getting bolder and bolder now, jabbing her way in close and trusting in Corona's horrible wide aim to let her do her work at medium-near rang with impunity.

Round 5

Boudersa is the aggressor but slowing down, both women blowing hard now. Corona biding her time, letting herself get beached against the ropes, and then surging, throwing straight upward flurries in spurts but not reaching as the champion glides away keeping her guard raised. Jab-jab-right-jab-right-right lands for Boudersa, forcing Corona onto the backfoot. Uppercuts scoring inside for Boudersa.

Round 6

Boudersa is stepping back as Corona dives in with desperate lunges at her exposed midriff, diving in facefirst and roping out both hands ahead of herself. Boudersa is crunching the right cross into the nose and eye sockets of Corona upon planting her feet, after steadying herself and checking her aim with a jab on the brow in flight. Corona is game, pressing forward, but eating jabs and falling well short with her stubby-armed, telegraphed attacks.

Round 7

Boudersa is swarming Corona now, throwing uppercuts with both hands, shepherding her into the ropes. Corona slouches over, face down, shoulders hunched up protectively. Looks for a moment like Boudersa might be attempting to force a stoppage but she reins up as Corona starts to set her feet and jab while turning in place with a little more composure than perhaps the Frenchwoman had expected. Some heavy body shots whipped in by Corona, straying low but no warning from the ref as they go at it; he waits for a reasonable break in the action before gesturing at the ladies' fallopian regions and giving a gentle shake of the head in the negative.
