Boudersa is throwing a jab/right/hook combo, buzzing Corona. Now lead rights and big can-opener left hooks, turning herself clockwise above the waist on the follow-through. Corona is now grinding in close, grabbing at Boudersa's arms, wrenching down on them, and slapping her on the bare tummy a few times. Boudersa is circling out behind a left jab, taking a breather. Corona dives in with a lead right bouncing off Boudersa's outer thigh, and then rushes in but is halted by the ref, who gives her a warning for billy-goating. Heavy overhand rights by Corona in the pocket, caught on the left forearm of Boudersa. Chopping right from Boudersa also blocked. They're both too close to do anything but smother their own punches.

Round 9

Boudersa is parrying all of Corona's desperate overreaching bombardments with a flick of her left jab and dancing around the ring. Boudersa just riding her bike now, content to point score with light taps on the body from outside, toying with Corona by denying her any range to get anything off. Corona is backing straight up when Boudersa decides to showboat for the crowd and step in with a esries of hooks and rights, all of them barely missing, leading Corona to smirk as she lifts her goal posts just in case.

Round 10

Boudersa is leading with uppercuts and hooks now, wading inside with reckless abandon. She's no longer the least bit worried about Corona landing a Hail Mary haymaker, it would appear. Jab on the belt line and HARD right strapping down across the jaw from outside by Boudersa. Corona takes it well but a follow-up flurry has her tying up. Ref in there to break them up frequently as needed. Corona lets both hands go, firing underhanded below the boobs, yet Boudersa is able to swallow her up in a tackle against the ropes and club down on her with a few overhands.

Yvan Mendy vs. Hakim Ben Ali, 12 rounds @ lightweight

 

Anthems once more. Belgian, and then French again.

 

This will be for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental lightweight title.

Mendy is currently ranked #8 by the WBC, yet is absent from the WBA top 15.

 

Ben Ali was the national champion of Belgium in two weight divisions (130 and 135lbs).

 

Round 1

Mendy is jabbing in and then unloading straight combos on the body. Lots of ducking and posing from Ben Ali on the outside, putting out a light patter of defensive jabs from different angles. Mendy is stalking, dipping aside when Ben Ali shows a 1-2 feint, and countering with a looping right as Ben Ali makes as if to dash off to his left.

Round 2

Mendy has Ben Ali on the run, spearing hard jabs and rights into his breadbasket, forcing Ben Ali to double over with his buttocks against the ropes. Mendy clubs him across the scalp with a right hand and continues to shred his body as Ben Ali does a face plant. Ben Ali tries arguing with the ref that he slipped but is given a count. Ben Ali spends the rest of the frame even more cautiously jabbing his way around the perimeter, while Mendy follows and lands pinpoint body jabs and keeps trying with a right up top, just missing as Ben Ali quickens his step.

Round 3

Mendy is getting a little impatient, letting his customary poise lapse a bit as he comes off his toes, flying at Ben Ali with compact but poorly thought out power attacks. Mendy is almost tossing himself onto the canvas with his own momentum. The only time he's touching Ben Ali very cleanly is when the Belgian clinches and Mendy is able to whack him with his free hand. Ben Ali keeps attempting use hooking flurries to smokescreen his way into another clinch, but Mendy is taking a half-step out of the pocket and tagging him with a stiff jab instead.

Round 4

Mendy is starting out hungrily, throwing a torpedo right at the belly, and then marching Ben Ali down with a rapid Terminator gait across the ring and chiseling his way inside with a jab before exploding with uppercuts. Ben Ali keeps dancing around, dropping his shoulders in diagonally to his opposite knee, very jerky, using awkward movement to remain an unpredictable target, and lobbing jabs and light roundhouse lead rights on the backfoot. Mendy keeps walking him down behind a peekaboo, and tearing up the body whenever Ben Ali skates near the ropes. A couple of weak jabs into the wrists from Ben Ali, countered by a stiff one from Mendy that sets him involuntarily backpedaling. Mendy is ducking and weaving in and slams Ben Ali's gloves into his face with another cue-ball stiff jab.

I really have to demand stoppage or bust from Mendy here. Letting this weak clown hang around twelve would mean that not only should he forget a Luke Campbell rubber match, he should probably just retire.
