That shite isn't fair. You're asking the ww champ to put his title on the line when he has to weigh in a couple pounds lower than his usual weight class lol. Pac is lucky that they have junior/super divisions. Pac along with Hearns, Leonard and Dlh wouldn't have won that many titles in so many different weight classes. The shite going on today with the overration of how many weight classes a guy jumps is ridiculous.

What about other welter-weights that weigh-in at 145 lbs? I dunno why ppl also think that the 147 lbs limit means that the fighter has to weigh exactly 147 lbs to make a WW fight happen. Cotto will no doubt accept at 145 lbs cause that's what he wants to make the fight happen. If it isn't fair then you tell that to Cotto himself who will most likely mutually agree and give the "ok".

How is that a ***** move?:huh PAC is just making a fight with a legitimate foe. Of course Shane deserves it more based on his career and most recent performance but Cotto is a Top Rank fighter....Arum is their promoter. I'm sure the fight is easier to make and its a lesser risk fighting Cotto. After all Floyd did the exact same thing by not fighting Cotto, Marg or Shane. So if it's a ***** move on part of PAC it's also a ***** move on part of Floyd and neither men are bitches!

 

I doubt if this news is true?!? Simply put, if it's non-title why should a smaller Pacquiao go to 145-lb which he has never been in 15 years?! If Cotto does not want to go down to 143, Pacquiao can fight Mosley (144-lb, more legacy at stake, plus WBA on the line).

Or.....Cotto is looking to face a smaller man who will be a lot bigger on fight night, who will hold a power advantage and who will be looking to beat the BIGGER name in the sport. Not that I believe this....I'm just saying I don't believe Roach or PAC are looking to weaken anyone moreso trying to make sure teh fight is as fair as possible going into the fight.

 

I really don't care if 145 is fair, I just wanted Pacquiao to beat Cotto at 147 so that no one will give the weight drain excuse and so on.

 

yall are acting that this is the first fight ever where a title is going to be up for grabs at a catchweight. yall must remember that the welterweight class is from 141-147. if the catchweight was 138 or 148, the title righfully should not be on the line.

however, it is up to the two camps to agree on a weight and other issues such as revenue and should they agree at 145 which is well inside the welterweight limit, then the title could be put at stake.

it sucks for cotto that he cannot weight up to 147 for the weigh in but that's a sacrifice he has to make for him to get the biggest match of his career.

it's all rather simple, really.

Dude...no matter what weight the fight is at the fight will be discredited by some. PAC's in a rare position where he will NEVER be able to please everyone. But that is a non issues. At the end of the day PAC will definitley get the accolades and credit deserving of his accomplishments. Beating Cotto at 145, a pound less than what he weighed in on when he faught Josh will be a great feat. If he wins, which I'm pretty sure he will based on PAC just being a better fighter.

 

I like Cotto, but...

Pacman will Finish what Margarito beginned on Cotto at this weight... Yes it is 2 pounds but IM pretty sure it will have affect on Cotto.

I see Cotto is coming end of his road. It all gonna end there by heavy hands of Manny Pacquiao.
