Thats why and how Oscar was able to get Texas to allow Pac to use "loaded wraps" against Margarito, despite Margarito's trainer-Robert Garcia protesting and threatening to cancel the fight if Pac's hands were not re-wrapped.
Texas said no re-wrapping, and the fight will go on regardless.
texas officials knew Pac had "loaded wraps" and allowed the crime of battery/assault to occur against Margarito.

pathetic... a state boxing commission allowing a fighter to go into the ring with illegal wraps is unthinkable especially in a hand to hand combat sport. garcia is just doing mind games here.

it is margo who should be charged and put in jail when he loaded his wraps with cement for the cotto fight and tried to do this again in the mosley fight. he's lucky that he wasn't permamently banned and now he gets around $7M (far and away his largest purse ever) for fighting the top guy in boxing. very lucky guy indeed.

If this is true though, it shouldnt just be dismissed by fans and media. Wrong is wrong, and this should be looked into if there is any credability at all to these claims, which, I HOPE, are all BS.

I'm not here to do that, but I do want to point out that Freddie Roach thinks that how Pacquiao wrapped his hands vs Margarito is illegal.

How ironic that Roach protested to the commision when DLH wrapped his hands exactly the same way, and he was concerned that the ridges that stick out when you roll up the tape and gauze inbetween the fingers could cut his fighter.
....again, Roach is Nostradomus, a straight left right at Margarito's eye socket, cut him right up.....

Let me make it clear before any of you *******s starts to ***** that its sour grapes.......:nonoI dont believe one way or the other that Pacquiao's handwraps made the difference in the fight.

I'm just here to point at Freddie Roach's hypocrisy, and to say that he purposely allowed and likely instructed Pacquiao to wrap this hands exactly the way DLH did that night vs Pac.....

......the only difference is that when Roach complained to the commision about the ridges on DLH's knuckles, the inspector instructed DLH to make the roll of gauze/tape less thicker inbetween the fingers.

Now, Sergio Garcia when he went to feel Pacquiao's handwrap at the knuckles, protested.....its on videotape, Garcia said, "when I was wrapping Margarito, the inspector told me there should not be any ridges on the fist area."...."I'm feeling Pacquiao's wraps and you can clearly feel the ridges popping out of Pacquiao's knuckles."

Now that to me is a valid concern. The overseeing commision inspector did not allow for Pacquiao to rewrap his hand because unbelievably, (as if they still have'nt learned from the Margarito case with Mosley) they had already signed off in front of a Margarito camp representative who OK'd it.

I however find it ridiculous that the commision would ignore something like ridges sticking out on the top of your knuckle area, when in the other room the inpector there had told Garcia that the top of Margarito's fist area should be flat with no ridges.

In this case you have two different inspectors instructing the camps two different ways, one telling Margarito and Garcia, "No ridges are allowed".....and on the Pac side, the inspector being OK with the ridges.

My beef to the commision, get it right and have the inspectors rule unilaterally with the same rules on both sides.atsch

Again, imo the wraps likely did not have a real bearing on the fight, but Roach is a hypocrite who purposely cheated and let his fighter wrap his hands in a way that was according to his own opinion "Illegal" "the ridges can cut a fighter."

No doubt that Freddie Roach is a cheating *******!

I personally think the commsion could have handled it better, and if there were ridges sticking out of Pacquiao's wrapped fist, he should have been made to re-wrap irregardless of the representative from Margarito's camp not having initially protested.

Thats just the thing here......both fighters were wrapping their hands at the same time, but because Garcia was wrapping Margarito's hands, he was'nt present when Pacquiao wrapped his own.

Garcia had a valid concern because he brought to the table what the inspector who inspected him had said......"no ridges on the fist area."

No, the evidence is not gone, they have it on video.

There was'nt a crime commited here with the wraps, as I dont think even most inspectors who supervise these wrappings fully know what a fighter can and cannot do in regards to how the tape and gauze should be applied.

What happened here was that putting a rolled up piece of tape between the fingers and have it stick out at the fist area like a ridge, was allowed with Pacquiao, but was'nt for Margarito.

This is what Garcia protested about, "there is ridges in Pacquiao's fist, the inspector that inspected us said no ridges on the fist area."

How can a statement like this just be dismissed by the Texas commision??????

Look at the left hand of Pacquiao already wrapped, you can see the ridges on the fist area. That was allowed for Pacquiao, but not for Margarito.

The inspector who supervised Pacquiao said it was OK.

.....but thats not what this thread is about......

Do you think its ok for one inspector in fighters dressing room allows for the ridges that are clearly visible in Pacquiao's handwrap.......

......but on the opposing camp, in this case Margarito, the inspector say's , "the fist should be flat, no ridges?"

Thats the bottom line here, it was allowed for Pacquiao, but not Margarito.

The Texas commison and their line of inspectors are not on the same page.:deal

Pac had ridges on Pac;s fists were the result of having inserts in underneath.
Those illegal cement-style inserts is what caused Margarito's face to swell easily from the first round.

They weren't deemed legal.

texas just didn;t care.

texas officials were instructed to let the fight go through, regardless of when Pac loads his gloves.

thats why oscar had arranged singers to perform before the fight, so they can "kill time" , and they can ease the controversy and make Margarito fight an illegally loaded gloved Pacquiao that night, and there was little or nothing Team Margarito could do about it.

I actually realise what everyone was saying to me. I am a MAJOR Pacquiao fan, but the guys dissing the poster of this never even gave time to it. Maybe it's true, but Pacquiao would have had no part in wrapping his own hands, and so would obviously not have been at fault. Freddy is a great manager but perhaps he could have had a part in it, and or the comission. Either way, Pacquiao had a great victory, and I'm avoiding ay thread with his name in it to avoid being made hate him by all of these ***gots.

Every fighter knows what is being put inn their wraps.
Pac knew all along that he had illegal plaster inserts in him, just like he knows that EPO steroids gets injected in him, with a clear cream application.
