I've come across arguing with two posters who claimed Mayweather has all the reason to ask for OSDT in his possible bout with Pacquiao because Roach has history of having trained or to say the least host in his gym, fighters that were caught using PED.

If that is the case, how come Floyd Mayweather didn't ask for OSDT during his bout against Oscar Dela Hoya?

He was coming off 300,000 buys against Baldomir. PBF wasn't in position to ask for anything against Oscar.

Oscar and Goldenboy have the relationship with Travis Tygart.
That is just wayyyyyy to close for comfort.

The Mayweathers also have links to fighters who have tested positive for banned substances...oddly ironic

So given the initial responses, one can surmise that Mayweather and his principle of cleaning the sport takes backstage when it comes to dealing with certain people. Or should I say when he is pretty much willing to make the fight?

do not bite the hands that feed you. also oscar at that time was not seen as much as a threat as pacquiao is now. his father did advised him not to fight oscar nor they accused oscar before hand of using PEDs.

Obviously, he has no leverage against Pac either....not to mention the right to ask Pac for additional testing.

exactly and to use the company his promoter or affiliate GBP has a relationship with. Just absurd. Travis Tygart knows it is not possible to implement this in boxing based on the amount of fights there are each week and the fact that you would need to test year round. But boy would it be a "golden" cash cow to be the one doing hundreds of expensive drug tests every week.

Actually, I'd say they're about deadlocked in terms of leverage as neither will budge on the issue and both are willing to just let the opportunity slip away rather than do so. As for "the right"...wtf are you even talking about?

Any boxer has "the right" to ask for anything they want as part of negotiations...just as the opponent has every right to tell them to **** off.

It's a big game of chicken, negotiations.

So far Mayweather and Pacquiao played it to a stalemate.

If either had caved on the testing issue, the other person could be said to have won.
