Mayweather Sr knew this in 2010 however I think he is a good coach just not his year and it's hard to control your fighters 24/7 (Chavez jr with the weed, Manny and his political career etc)

No offense to Freddie, but you're over reacting by this. You are both over rating a trainer and it seems you don't know the extent of the people who post on ESB.

Its painfully obvious ,judging by your post, you know absolutely NOTHING about the sport of boxing
    Here goes .......

1... Khan got knocked out because he DIDNT do what Freddie told him. Khan attacked Garcia leaving himself open & Garcia lowered the boom ....... Not Freddie's fault

2 ... Chavez jr was SCHOOLED !! by a far superior boxer , Sergio Martinez, for 11 rounds Chavez didnt win a round. A trainer is not a miracle worker Freddie doesn't have a magic wand with which to turn an overated club fighter like Chavez into a champion. Freddie has done the impossible getting Chavez as far as he has...... Not Freddies fault

3... The knockout in the Pac-Marquez fight could have gone either way In fact Paquaio was ahead on the scorecards & seemed to be taking over. A momentary lapse in concentraion by Paquaio seized on by Marquez resulted in a spectacular KO ..... Not Freddie's fault

Freddie Roach is revered among boxing experts the same way Eddie Pappa Smurf Futch was. When you add on the extra burden Freddie has to carry due to suffering from Parkinsons syndrome It shows the guts & courage Freddie still has. The man is an inspiration to us all.

Then I see this post from you calling Freddie Roach a fraud????? I think someone ought to call your Daddy & tell him what a classless jerk his offspring is being on Daddies puter. Hopefully he'llwithdraw your puter priviledges

I know people on here are trols but liek I said it doesn't take away from the fact that Roach is one of the best trainers in boxing.

I think Roach is a good trainer and understands boxing very well... He has his limitations though...
Don't think he is among the greats like Steward.

Robert Garcia is doing a really good job with LOTS of fighters these days...
Roach is doing ok with Pacquiao... but he is unable to control him much
Nacho is continually doing a good job with Marquez.

Roach will go down as a legendary trainer. A bad year does not define a career.

It isn't that he is not a good coach, it is that coaching is usually so overrated. He is a solid trainer which is what is good about him. I give him a rating of b+ as a trainer. Not the A+ of Emanuel Steward but solid. What happened this year just shows how overrated coaches are and how underrated a great fighter is. Hearns is one guy who benefited from a great coach, but he had Emanuel from the start. That is when I give a guy credit as a coach. A guy who coaches someone from the start of his career. But a guy who gets a top fighter after he switches from another trainer, I don't think proves too much. Had Hearns gone to Lou Duva in the 1980s would that really mean Lou is a great trainer? Even though Lou is considered a top trainer or cornerman, in that case it wouldn't have proven much-just that he is a solid professional. Roach is a solid professional coach. He knows the game. There are great coaches in boxing which we do not know about, and most are in the amateur ranks where they are unheard of, yet they work hard everyday.

anyone who achieves anything will occasionally go through a bad patch.
thats just life, you can't win em all, **** happens, and all that.
i seem to remember people saying the same thing about manny steward after naz was beaten by barrera and lennox lewis was ko'd by rahman.
if freddie roach is a world class trainer, which i believe he is, he'll be back.
