Sounds to me like Roach is scared Bradley will school his boy this time. I had Pac wining the first fight by 2 rounds. But their careers have gone in opposite direction since their last meeting. Bradley has been getting better, and smarter. Pacquiao has been looking more and more disappointing. It sounds to me like ROach doesnt have faith in Pacquiao's ability. This all goes back to Mosley being "too good", and Yuri Foreman being "too tall" yet got Oscar at the right time when he said he knew that Oscar couldn't "pull the trigger" Roach wants fights that will make Pacquiao look good. LINK http://tinyurl.com/n73pbrc FULL QUOTE I think it would have been a good fight, but [Marquez] said no, and that makes me a little sad because we know that was the best fight out there for Manny. Personally, [between our two choices] I think a fight with Ruslan is better. Bradley would be difficult because he boxes well. I personally saw him winning that fight against Marquez. He is fast, knows how to fight and a rematch is necessary. I thought [Pacquiao] beat Bradley [in their fight], but the scorecards didn't agree"
Where does this come from? Because Freddie Roach said in an interview with Radio Rahim that Manny and Provodnikov are NOT fighting, because they are FRIENDS, and that Provo told him personally he'd retire before fighting Manny.
you know what... ima say this right now: i dont agree with what roach does as far as going for weaker fights when manny is supposed to be p4p king like when he refused to fight mosley because "he was better then oscar" but i respect him for atleast being open about it.. so many promoters and fighters come up with laughable excuses and push the blame around but atleast roach states how he really feels
True. I can respect that. If nothing else you should always be able to appreciate honesty. But, at the same time its hard to defend Pacquiao when you have quotes like that floating in the air.
I not sure Bradley has improved that much. Bradley from the Pacquiao fight would likely still beat the Marquez he fought. Still would favour Pacquiao to win in a fight similar to their first fight but more competive.
