I agree with this. Though, you have to wonder "how long has Cotto been virtually training himself". You have to think, regardless of what he needs to work on, he's achieved a lot so far, and that sort of speaks of how much of a natural this guy is in the ring. I think that will be a big difference on fight night...natural boxing ability. One thing is for sure, and we've seen this in the past, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
if roach was such a genius, where is his home grown talent? hes the yankess of trainers...take established guys who are peaking...or simply ones that are already world title champs or ex champs... thanks for the 1,000 Roach thread since this fight was announced....
I don't really think Cotto telegraphs his punches, he is actually deceptively fast because of his timing. Roach is definitely right about the state of his camp and trainer though. The fact that Cotto didn't show any defensive improvements at all after the Margarito fight was very disappointing. Such an obvious flaw/liability and they did not appear to address it at all.
