I wouldnt mind it one bit if Cotto's trainers, or Cotto himself said they will KO Pac in the first 15 seconds. You should give yourself that vote of confidence...dont need to bellitle your opponent, but big yourself up. I find it cool that Cotto is punching a bag with Pac's face in it...I mean it cant be much worse than Cotto punching Pac's actual face. lol. When Pac or Cotto's camp starts insulting each other, calling each other this and that, taking cheap shots...thats when people can get pissed off at the "trash". lol. I enjoy these predictions from Roach...he really puts himself out there. If he's right, he looks like a genius, if he's wrong, he looks like a turd...no sitting on the fence.
I made a thread about the ring size last week....doesn't Roach realize that the reason Cotto is using it is to cut Manny off when he begins to run from those precise pummeling body shots !!!!
Im a big Cotto fan and i was really looking forward to this fight in a fairly impartial setting, but since Roach has been spouting off im really rooting for Cotto to KTFO of him.
I think he'd have minimal success countering but if he let's Manny lead all night Pac will land way more on cotto than cotto will on him.
right, Cotto whos stood toe to toe and banged it out with punchers like Torres, Mosley, Bailey, Plasterpunch, Judah etc. .....those are all guys with serious firepower and they're all naturally bigger then Pac, and ya'll think Cotto's gonna run? i think not....he will be the agressor, but he will also box off the backfoot and counter when he wants to cuzz he has alot more depth to his game then some of Pacs last opponents, not to mention its always better to keep your opponent guessing to throw him off his game so anyone who thinks that Pacs gonna get in there and just walk thru Cotto like a ghost thru a wall is in for a **** of a surprise
I actually heard Cotto's only using the 24x24 ring because thats the biggest ring possible, so whatever the ring size is on fight night, he won't have no problem cutting it off.
The only time Cotto has "run" (boxed), was against bigger men (Clottey, Mosley, Margarito). I'd be shocked if he boxes backwards against Pacman.
And like you're saying, that wasn't even "running". It was just measured boxing behind a really, really effective jab. If Roach thinks he can shame Cotto into fighting some silly, overly aggressive fight, he's kidding himself.
