"Oscar had trouble with Stevie Forbes, and Forbes is a blown up 130 pounder also, people might say that about Pacquiao. But Pacquiao is the best pound for pound fighter in the world today, he has what it takes. How we're going to win this fight - we're not going to put alot of weight on and use our strength, it's speed how you win this fight. We have a great strategy, I know Oscar's weaknesses, and we're going to take advantage of them. Even though I only trained with him for eight weeks I know alot about Oscar, and what his faults are. We're going to win this fight believe me." Freddie Roach, ESPN, September 2008
Roach is pretty confident.. He's right too, because Pac will be a blown up lightweight.. People keep bringing up that he was a former 106lber, but Pac has grown into his body..
Oscar didn't have problems with Forbes but he didn't look good there either, he took some shots he didn't really have to take, Oscar's performance there was crap to be honest. Roach knows what he's talking about being a professional trainer for so long, if his opponent was in serious danger he wouldn't be asking for this fight desperately. I know money is an issue here but you think he will risk his BY FAR #1 fighter for money and end up with a loss that will be criticised for a long time?, not to forget that since he's the one that encouraged this for so long he will take the most **** from it, even more than Pacquiao.
ODLH is no longer ODLH, it's only a matter of time before he gets exposed. GREAT fighter in his prime, but that was a long time and several weight classes ago.
Lets not forget Manny Pacquiao got knocked the **** out by Hussien by a friggen Jab, though it wasnt ruled a knock out because of that LONG count and I mean long if you hadnt seen that fight, I recommend looking into it. Pacquiao got by JMM by the skin of his teeth and his biggest wins other than that are against washed up elites in Barrera and Morales. Pac should get smashed here but if he wins, I look for Pac to be signed with Goldenboy one week later as CEO of Asia
