I'm a huge valero fan, but this fight should not happen, first Valero hasn't earned it yet, not because of his doing let's remember he has trouble getting licensed, now he can fight in tx which solves that issue, but yet he hasn;t fought bradley or alexander to prove he deserves the big money fight yet.
That being said he is also not ready skillwise, his lack of defense and wild punching makes him PERFECT for pacquiao, which is why roach wants it, what better way to hype a fight than to have his man look impressive against someone with an undefeated record like Valero with all those ko's? It won't mean a damn thing to an educated fan who knows better but to the regular joe it won't be so clear.
This is just Roach protecting his fighter and attempting to save face, makes sense from their point of view, Just think, you defeat Valero take his undefeated away and then you promote it as now he"s coming after mayweather's "0" and sell a ton of ppv.

After all wasn't he saying a year ago that Valero was a LONG shot to fight pac if at all??
Bradley or alexander should have pulled a mosley on pac last saturday

It's Roach.... An article comes out, and you all buy his **** and talk about it like it's for certain. Then tomorrow he says something else in a new article and you cry about how he lies and STILL take what he says in that new article for certain. Fools...

Arum has also mentioned Valero numerous times as Pacquiao's next opponent.

If Valero has a chin, it could a be a good fight. Maybe...

I prefer Bradley who has earned it. **** Arum.

So Roach wants Pac to fight

    1- the winner of Floyd/Mosley
    2- Valero
    3- JMM
4- Bradley and Alexander when they become more marketable.

and he doesn't want Pac to fight Margarito because he is suspended in the USA.

That sounds pretty damn good to me. I just hope Pac plans on fighter the lighter guys at 140 and not 147.

Valero would have been a good fight before Manny bulked up and bacame a welter maybe when he was still a lighweight before he bulked. I think Marquez his modern arch rival would be a great measuring stick. This guy has Manny's number after 2 fights and Floyd the guy Manny wants took him to school and put on a clinique. If he can get Marquez in the ring and beat him as bad as Floyd do what Floyd did not do he'd prove something. That would sell tickets. Floyd has that one up on Manny saying I crushed the guy that gave you hell twice and he uses that to explain why Manny has no chance. If Manny beats JMM to a pulp he will convince all kinds of fans that he is ready for Floyd and can win. Doing this will possible maximize ticket sales and PPV

agreed but that's too much risk in roach's mind, he wants something easy and impressive, pac would make valero look awful, and that's what they want

A few years ago, when Pacquiao was a nobody, looking for an oportunity Barrera, Marquez and Morales never put this as an excuse they were rich already making millions (with the exception of Marquez), they never gave that as an excuse to duck opponents, that's exactly what is wrong with the boxing nowadays, first is the business, after that a lot of things and at the end is the sport.

Businessman like pac and pbf (and their promoters) are going to finish with boxing.

Yes and Manny would kill Valero I would think. Manny of 2007 may have been a different story. But now that he has really muscled up to 147 I dont see anybody under 140 beating him

nothing wrong with Valero being mentioned as an opponent..
it's quite an honor...if roach and arum are thinking so..then it must mean let's stop a future legacy and this guys undefeated streak in an exciting fight that we believe we can win.his record...copy and pasted because i am a lazy bast..

    Total fights to date: 27
    Total wins: 27
    Highest winning streak: 27
    Wins by knockout: 27
    Round one knockouts: 19
Consecutive round one knockout streak: 18

granted his record looks like hector gomez escabano jr and fuji takawamama and julio cheecho wawa... but.. he's growing and fighting
better guys now... i'm interested to see how long his k.o. streak goes...
I don't see him knocking out lamont peterson.

I like the guy..he is going to be an exciting addition now that showtime picked him up and i'm sure other people will come around to saying so eventually when he finally proves himself to an american audience.
if he did his thing on friday night fights before moving to showtime then he would have more of a positive opinion by boxing fans.

I think it's too soon a jump to fight manny ....not Bradley though....
Bradley is another star that is still coming up...hell...i wouldn't be surprised if Hbo scoops him up soon.

If he rips through peterson with ease...it will give me more of a sence how he would actually do against Bradley...and somewhat of a sence against other opponents.

absolutely, if only Valero had fought unimpeded as well this might be interesting, who knows what he would be like had he fought the same caliber opponents manny has, one thing is for sure though, Valero would NOT be undefeated if he had fought better opponents, but like someone mentioned above, first is business then the sport, so roach wants Valero.

Margo shouldn't get the fight just on principle, that douche nozzle doesn't deserve a fight against anyone.

nothing wrong with changing your mind about valero that is still up and coming.... it's called foresight.....it's better than being bandwagon when he starts becoming loved by fight fans and posters

I like Valero and he reminds me of Soto the guy I think Valero should fight.

A tough as nails hard hitter who comes to fight has gained two belts but never gets his due. And he is neverr in a boring fight. Valero is fun to watch. And I agree on the **** Margo part. guy sits out a year for cheating and is handed the p4p1 a title fight and a huge payday and PPV thats not ok in my book.

the fight with demarco.... most refs and corners or doctors would have stopped that splitting gash to the head valero recieved from an accidental butt..

that **** looked like it was to the skull... like the cappileries were so mashed that it took a bit before the blood started to flow.

he continued and beat the guy till he quit.

lots of his opponents want "no mas"

Yeah I love watching Valero's fights he's like a tasmanian devil in there, i have a feeling he's never gonna get his due though, if he fights pac now he's gonna get destroyed in there, if he fights him later and wins they'll say he should have fought pac in his prime, so he has a tough road ahead of him. One guy I wish would fight more often is Linares, he looked to be a great prospect but just disappeared.
