Stop it! Smith didn't win a round in that fight and Ward didn't even get out of first gear.

GG doesn't like inside fighting... I can't think of a bout where he spent much time in clinches. Can he box on the inside?

Sparring doesn't mean anything novice. If Kovalev fought GGG in a real boxing match he would beat the **** outta him. Lastly who gives a **** about being unified in a weak ass division like 160? It's not like he's unified at 175 or something that's something to brag about.

GGG has never been mauled in over 300 fights, and no one has boxed circles around him for an entire fight.
No, I haven't seen every one of his amateur fights but he won nearly every one of them; he has no record of
being either mauled or boxed out of a fight. Whereas Ward has been mauled recently and in the past.

At 168 this is an even fight IMO...anything over that weight and certainly Ward has the edge.

So you'd pick GG to beat Kovalev at 175 with 100% certainty? Or would you have some doubts based on the fact in sparring, boxers are rehearsing and hoing skills, are at different stages of their training cycle, have not needed or attempted to make weight, are not boxing to a game plan, are not having to pace themselves over 12 rounds, that the rounds might not have been three minutes long, that the way they engaged may have been pre-arranged to focus on inside work, or boxing at range etc, that they are wearing 16oz gloves and one is in the ring to assist the other. You dismiss all those aspect entirely?

    Sparring stories... lol

What is there to brag at 175? Ward didn't unify the division, Kovalev did. The only accomplishment Ward has at 175 is winning a very controversial decision. I don't know why many consider 160 a "weak" division. There are plenty of huge jr. Middleweights that can come up and fight at 160, but they prefer to stay at 154 to win belts they have no intention of unifying.
