Probably none, apart from the weird behavior of his preferred/chosen sparring partners backing off and not participating in preparation for the biggest fight in boxing.

Be part of the biggest fight in boxing to date plus getting paid to do so.. More than a fair deal.. I mean its just absolute bonkers if a non top boxer refuses an offer like that.

    edit:

and if this nonsense is REALLY true... Team pacquiao should out bid haymons offers. That's how you settle it....

    Lets just agree to disagree.

What's fair to me is preparing and having the best training camp you can have and not hinder the other camp's training.

I mean, mind games.. I would be ok with trashtalking or something along those lines.. But prohibiting boxers to participate as sparring partners for the opponents camp? That's not mind games, its physically limiting the potential of the other camp.

Its just unsportsmanlike to do that in my book.

Apparently you think its ok to use underhanded tactics because the other camp can also use one in return.

Roach owns and operates arguably the most well-known boxing gym in the United States today. I'm sure he isn't having a difficult time finding sparring partners. You couldn't spit in that gym without hitting a potential sparring partner.

Hell, some of the biggest money matchups that can be made today have already taken place at the Roach's gym.

Roach just needs to get his fighter ready. He's been trainer of the year forever. Do your job and shut up.

It's just plain ole playing dirty. Not sure they can get any dirtier, they already brought in the dirtiest chemist in US sports history.

If proven true, do you think what Haymon did was fair/correct/sportsmanlike?

so your telling me that team pacquiao can't outbid haymon? Pacquiao about to make 80 mil pre PPV.... lol... 60k for the best sparring partners is more than enough to cover expenses.... If roach or whoever handles that doesn't want to pay up thats their own fault.

    edit:

again this is why it's mental war fare. If this IS a true statement. Team pacquiao is losing on the chess board so far.

Sparring partners are a dime a dozen. If Haymon is paying them more to not get hit GOOD FOR THEM.

There is 20 years of film on Floyd Mayweather. You can get guys in any weight division to mimic his style - if you want to go that route. A lot of fighters don't even spar with boxers that mimic their opponent's style. Roach trains a lot of boxers. A lot of boxers train at Roach's gym. The world is a big place. Manny's making more than $100 million for this fight, too. He can pay people to spar with him. Or Roach can ban them from the gym for life if they side with Mayweather. Whatever.

Nobody involved in this fight can "cry poor" and say the other guy is "outspending" them. They're all multi-millionaires (Roach included). If you want a guy and Haymon's paying him to stay away, pay him more or get someone else.

Put on your "big boy pants" Roach. Manny should know how to beat Mayweather by now. Who he spars with isn't going to matter when the bell rings.

I hope Manny wins, but I don't want to hear **** like this coming from Roach. This is the BIG ONE. They need to do their work and shut up.

Im all for mind games, it makes it that more interesting. I competely agree that there is no one fighter that can minic Floyd, but lets say Fighter A has a similar shoulder roll, fighter B has his defensive posture etc and Pac's camp would like to practice against those different aspects but can't because they've been bought off. Is it fair? Its not about being fair, its about winning. If Floyd was the competitor I thought him to be, I would think he would want Pac at his best, its bad enough both of them aren't exactly in their prime. Would those sparring partners make a big difference? Maybe, maybe not. Floyd's camp apparently think they would, otherwise they wouldnt have paid them off, allegedly.

Extremely shady, no reason to have the same sparring partners. God forbid if that was Roach doing this; "he's just playing mind games."

We're reaching the the pinnacle of the tribal idiocy that has been overshadowing boxing for the past 5 years.

Both sets of idiots have been embarrassing themselves for years and now it's time to trot out the excuses in case their hero loses. The humiliation it one set of morons would be great if he we didn't have to put it with the incessant boasting of the the morons supporting the victor.

"Boxing coach Freddie Roach accused the camp of Floyd Mayweather Jr. of employing dirty tricks to shake up Manny Pacquiao's training ahead of their May 2 super-fight."

    ...so, allegedly.
