    Glass jaw means you can't take a shot b/c your jaw is glass. it is clear that Ortiz can take a shot without being knocked out cold.

    An important factor to consider that's not talked about is how big was Ortiz for that sparring session with Pacquiao ? Pacquaio always weighs under 147lbs when preparing for fights. Ortiz may well have been in the 159-162lbs range, considering that's more or less what he weighed against Berto. If Ortiz wasn't sparring to prepare for a fight of his then he wasn't training to make weight, therefore much bigger.

    Also, lets not forget that Ortiz may well have looked worst than he should have at times by draining himself considerably in order to make 140lbs. We just have to remind ourselves of Miguel Cotto and how many times he was being rocked in his fights before moving up to 147lbs, where he withstood big shots by guys like Mosley & Margarito without being put on ***** street like at 140lbs...

    I don't give more credit to Maidana for rocking Ortiz at 140lbs but rather explain it more in Ortiz not belonging there in the first place. Making weight most likely hindered his punch resistance too much !!

    :good good post. Ortiz energy level and stamina looked a lot better at 147.

    that sparring took place when pac was still at 130 and ortiz was already at 140 lbs.

    Against maidana he was a Concussed, Ill-prepared, dehydrated and cut over his eye for the first time 22 year old on HBO. It's mind boggling how hard boxing fans can be on boxers.
