roach is really a nice guy. he is most probably just playing the role of a "heel" here to futher promote the fight. certainly pac has no ability to do that. but nacho was so disrespectful too that roach had to say this. he was just being honest. roach was already quoted as saying that w/o a "heel" here, the promotion for this fight would've been boring.

remember, mayweather played the role of the "bad guy" in his fights against both dlh and hatton. and we all know how successful money-wise these fights turned out to be.

nacho also trains abner mares and rafa marquez (jmm's bro) at present. he also trained daniel zaragosa, a former super-bantam champ.

roach, on the other hand, has produced about 22 world champs already.

If PAC loosing to Guzzy or JMM was likely.....but it's not. PAC would KO Joan..if he could make the weight and he'd end up Decisioning or putting JMM down to grab a 3rd victory over the great Mexican champion.

And I know Roach doesn't feel he's the greatest trainer of all time...that's just ****ing "Stuped".

Off Topic, but did anyone else think it was BS when DLH said on 24/7 that it was odvious that the gameplan that Roach came up with against PBF was the wrong one? What was odvious to me is DLH abandoned the game plan halfway through the fight and quit jabbing for some reason.

I like Roach but he is really getting on my nerves lately.

He is being way to disrespectful with everybody and makes himself look like he is a step closer to insanity.

Look at what he has said about other fighters recently. Roach stopped training Israel Vazquez after he lost to Rafa Marquez and said that Israel was punch drunk and couldn't win anymore. Izzy comes back with two wins over Rafa. He claimed that Hopkins was punch drunk and wasn't going to beat Pavlik. Hopkins then gives us one of the best performances of the year.
These are only two examples of the stupid stuff he has began to say since last year.

Now he claims that DLH is too slow, can't pull the trigger, his jab is not that good, and talks his lightweight into a fight with Oscar. If it wasn't for Pacquiao this man would be in a losing streak.

Roach will look really stupid once his fighter gets knocked out by DLH as he is the one that can't pull that trigger anymore.

I thought it was common sense for boxing fans on who Nacho Beristain has trained and who he trains.

He currently trains JMM, his brother Rafael Marquez, and upcoming prospect Abner Mares.

He is currently a Hall of Fame trainer who will go down as one of the worlds best.

    Past fighters:
Daniel Zaragoza, long time former Super Batamweight champ.
Humberto Gonzales, former Super Flyweight champ.
Guty Espadas Jr, former Featherweight champ.

Melchor Cob Castro, former Light Flyweight champ.
    Rodolfo Lopez, former Featherweight champ.
    Victor Rabanales, former Bantamweight champ
Enrique Sanchez, former Super Bantamweight champ.
Gilberto Roman, former Super Flyweight champ.

And finally All Time Great Ricardo "Finito" Lopez.:deal

What has Nacho said derogatory toward Pac and Roach??

I've heard Nacho himself in video, many times talk about JMM and Pac, and he has nothing but respect for Manny......I think what might bother you and Roach is Nacho's assertion that JMM took Manny Pac to school.......tell me what trainer worth his salt would'nt say that on behalf of his fighter when he truly believes it? .....thats not being nasty toward Pac or Roach.

If I've missed Nacho being nasty toward either Roach or Pac, I'd like to hear some of the things Nacho has said that is so insulting, because I have'nt heard them?

Roach is really acting like a spoiled little brat that goes to his mommy everytime someone does something to him he does'nt like....."Mommy he hit me!" "Mommy look?"........the mommy hear being the media.

Roach's conduct as regards to pointing fingers at others and berating them in public, is unlike the conduct of a man with character and integrity.

One thing that a man with character and integrity would do when confronted with the situation of thinking an opposing trainer just berated him in a foreign language in front of others.......You either walk off and keep it to yourself, or if it bothers you that much which apparently it did Roach, you confront Nacho in private, and tell him what you just learned and express to him that we dont know eachother well enough for me to appreciate you berating me in those terms, even if it was meant as a joke.

People just dont use diplomacy anymore, its a dieing art.......I guarantee you that if it were true and Nacho did spew that remark Roach claims, 99X out of 100 the perpetrator with the bad joke would have apologized to the victim, had the victim confronted him with his displeasure, and he would likely admit it was a bad joke.

More often than not, diplomacy brings about a stronger bond of respect between individuals.

The worst thing to do is to bring a situation like that to the public.....this actually makes Roach look bad for complaining to others instead of handling it himself.

One thing is to produce, and another is to train.

Roach talks too much and is overrated as a trainer

i respect him, but i still thinks he talks too much, and simply isn't that great a trainer.

I believe that under Beristan, Pac would be an even better fighter than he already is.

matter of semantics.... you always try to twist ppl's words around. just another one of your "tricks" when it comes to debates. :-( ok, roach has already trained and produced about 22 world champs. is that better?

beristain doesn't even put on the punch mitts and personally trains his boxers anymore. he has daniel zaragosa to do that for him now. roach to his credit still personally trains his fighters even with such a debilitating disease as parkinsons. we have to give the guy due respect for that and not disrespect him just like what nacho did.
